Absorbent articles including non-elasticated cuffs

An absorbent article having a chassis formed of a topsheet and backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet. First and second non-elasticated cuffs are provided on a body facing surface of the absorbent article on opposite sides of a longitudinal centerline. Each of the cuffs has a proximal end attached to the chassis and a distal end extending towards the centerline, wherein the width of the cuff measured between the proximal end and the distal end is at least 3 mm. Cuffs of the absorbent article may either incorporate a fold at the distal end to form cuffs with at least two layers or have a minimum cuff stiffness of at least 0.04 g*cm.

A disposable absorbent insert comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet; a liquid impermeable backsheet; and an absorbent core comprising absorbent material therein and being sandwiched between said topsheet and backsheet; wherein the insert comprises a perimeter formed by first and second transverse edges and first and second longitudinal edges connecting the first and second transverse edges; a longitudinal centerline extending substantially parallel to said first and second longitudinal edges and interposed therebetween such to divide said insert into a first longitudinal half between said longitudinal centerline and said first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal half between said longitudinal centerline and said second longitudinal edge; and a transverse centerline extending substantially parallel to said first and second transverse edges and interposed therebetween such to divide said insert into a first transverse half between said transverse centerline and said first transverse edge and a second transverse half between said transverse centerline and said second transverse edge; wherein the insert comprises longitudinally extending folds proximal to each said first and second longitudinal edges wherein said folds comprise a contact surface where a first portion of the backsheet is in contact with a second portion of the backsheet and the contact surface is a garment-facing surface of said backsheet.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH EMBOSSED SHAPING ELEMENTS

An absorbent article includes a fluid permeable topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core. The absorbent core includes a first absorbent structure located between the topsheet and a second absorbent structure, the second absorbent structure being located between the first absorbent structure and the backsheet. The second absorbent structure includes a central embossed shaping element including first and second central embossed shaping portions. The first and second central embossed shaping portions extend between a longitudinal centerline and first and second side edges, respectively. An outer embossed shaping element is provided in at least either of the topsheet or the first absorbent structure. The outer embossed shaping element includes a first and a second outer embossed shaping portion. The first and second outer embossed shaping portions are, in a transversal direction, provided outwards with respect to the first central embossed shaping portion and the second central embossed shaping portion, respectively.

Absorbent article with waist guard

The invention relates to an absorbent article with a waist guard disposed in the back waist region such that at least a first pocket is formed. The waist guard comprises a waist guard sheet having at least three fold lines extending substantially parallel to the transverse centerline of the absorbent article. The waist guard sheet further has at least a first, second, third and fourth portion. The first pocket comprises at least a first elastic portion provided along and/or adjacent to the first fold line.

The present invention relates to an absorbent article with a waist guard disposed in the back waist region such that at least a first pocket is formed. The waist guard is formed of at least a first waist guard sheet and a second waist guard sheet sheet. Each of the first and second waist guard sheet forms a portion of the first pocket. The first waist guard sheet is different from the second waist guard sheet, the difference being selected from the group consisting of basis weight, air permeability, caliper, Low Surface Tension Fluid Strikethrough Time, Opacity, and combinations thereof.
