A permeable undergarment comprising, a top portion and a bottom portion wherein the top portion of the undergarment is provided by a waistband, and the bottom portion of the undergarment is provided with the permeable layer. The permeable layer comprises a mesh of wicking fibres to wick the body fluids discharged from a user and transfers the body fluids through the permeable layer. A detachable pouch having a base layer and a plurality of side walls is also provided. The detachable pouch is defined such that, the base layer and the plurality of side walls together form a housing region. The housing region may house at least one absorption pad. The detachable pouch may be detachably attached or joined to the undergarment such that, the body fluids discharged from the user flows through the permeable layer and into the detachable pouch for absorption by the at least one absorption pad.

An incontinence guard, or diaper, is provided which comprises a girdle portion and a waste containment portion. The girdle comprises at least one flap having means to releasably secure itself to an outward-facing side of the waste containment portion and is moreover elastic so as to forcibly secure the waste containment portion around a wearer's waist. In use, a soiled waste containment portion may simply be detached from the girdle and replaced with a clean waste containment portion while the girdle remains secured around the wearer's waist. Alternatively, only a portion of the waste containment portion may be detatched from the girdle to permit changing of the soiled absorbent layer alone. This avoids a need to place the wearer in a lying position, or otherwise require the wearer to meaningfully cooperate, such as by responsively articulating from his hips and knees, when a caregiver undertakes to replace soiled incontinence guards.

The undergarment has an inner fabric layer that retains wetness to produce the uncomfortable sensation for the child after urinating in the undergarment. The undergarment has an absorbent layer sandwiched between two fabric layers that absorbs the excess wetness, the absorbent layer selectively having a barrier layer preventing urine from soaking through to the child's outer garments. In one embodiment, the undergarment has a channel extending from a front waistband, through a crotch to a back waistband for inserting an absorbent panel. In another embodiment, the undergarment has an absorbent insert attached by a plurality of adhesive strips between two fabric underwear. In one embodiment, the undergarment has a channel for inserting an absorbent panel attached by at least one adhesive strip.

A reusable diaper includes forward and rearward waist portions. At least one corner tab may be releasably attachable to the forward and rearward waist portions. The diaper may include at least one pocket configured to receive therein at least a portion of the corner tab. The pocket may be substantially impervious to liquids, such that positioning of the portion of the corner tab in the pocket helps inhibit wicking of liquid through the pocket and into the corner tab. Some embodiments may include first and second sets of interchangeable corner tabs that are releasably attachable to the forward and rearward waist portions. The second set of corner tabs may be sized differently than the first set of corner tabs such that the diaper size is adjustable depending on whether the first or second set of corner tabs are used.
