Disclosed is a pant type absorbent article having a waist guard portion on the front and/or back elastic belt, wherein the waist guard portion has a specific location in view of the location from the distal edge to the proximal edge relative to the percentage of the seam length LS, the waist guard portion comprising a waist guard elastic portion having a longitudinal dimension of no greater than about 40 mm, wherein the remainder of the elastic belt superposing the waist guard elastic portion is defined a correlated portion, wherein the tensile stress of the waist guard elastic portion is higher than that of the correlated portion.

An absorbent article has a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; first and second opposing longitudinal side edges, a front waist region and a back waist region; and a first and second back ear extending outwardly from the first and longitudinal side edges in the back waist region, respectively. The first back ear and the second back ear exhibit between about 1% to about 20% of a 4 hour growth when measured according to the 4 hr. Growth Test described herein.

A pant type absorbent article includes a back elastic belt comprising a waist guard portion extending towards the crotch region from a closed base line towards an open edge, wherein the waist guard portion is formed by a first inner waist fold extending from a second inner waist fold, the second inner waist fold extending from the inner sheet, and a first elastic member bonded between the first inner waist fold and the second inner waist fold, wherein the waist guard portion is partially bonded to the remainder of the elastic belt from which the first and second inner waist folds extend to define a pocket.

An apparatus for assisting a caregiver with aligning an absorbent article chassis and side panels with a supine wearer's hips, spine and leg opening. The apparatus includes a complementary mechanical fastener portion for engaging with an absorbent article complementary mechanical fastener portion. To align the apparatus and absorbent article assembly, a caregiver, utilizing a grasping element positions the assembly beneath a supine wearer with fewer incidents of ripping and tearing of absorbent article side panels and fasteners prior to application.
