A disposable absorbent article is described herein. The disposable absorbent article includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent system disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. At least a portion of the has a plurality of conforming features such that the absorbent article has a blot residual value of less than 30 mg and a bending stiffness of less than 12.

An absorbent has longitudinal and lateral centerlines, first, second, and target regions, the target region being disposed between the first second regions. Each of the first, second target regions extend laterally across the disposable absorbent article. The disposable absorbent article also has a topsheet; a backsheet; an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; a fluid management layer disposed between the topsheet and absorbent core; and a target zone disposed in the target region. The target zone has a first plurality of conforming features in at least the absorbent core or a combination of the absorbent core and at least one of the topsheet or fluid management layer. The absorbent article also has a long fiber network.

METHODS OF MAKING LAMINATES FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLES

A method of making a laminate for an absorbent article is provided. The laminate comprises elastic elements disposed at least partially intermediate two substrates. The first substrate has a primary fiber bond pattern formed therein and comprising a plurality of primary fiber bonds. The method comprises forming densified regions in the first substrate. A perimeter of each of the densified regions is larger than a perimeter of each of the primary fiber bonds. The densified regions together form a pattern of densified regions in the first substrate. The method comprises adhesively attaching the elastic elements to the first substrate, joining the second substrate to the first substrate or to some of the elastic elements, and forming a plurality of rugosities in the first substrate by allowing the elastic elements to at least partially contract. The frequency and amplitude ranges of the rugosities result from the pattern of the densified regions.

FEMININE HYGIENE PAD WITH HYDROPHILIC NONWOVEN TOPSHEET HAVING ENHANCED SKIN FEEL AND OBSCURING PRFORMANCE

A feminine hygiene pad having a topsheet including a fibrous nonwoven web material having hydrophilic fibers, and an absorbent layer including an open-celled foam formed through polymerization of a high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) is disclosed. The topsheet and the absorbent layer are disposed in direct face-to-face relationship with each other, and attached to each other within a bonding region. Within the bonding region, each first identifiable point of attachment between the topsheet and the absorbent layer has a neighboring second identifiable point of attachment between the topsheet and the absorbent layer within a 6 mm radius of the first identifiable point of attachment.

Methods of making laminates for absorbent articles

An absorbent article is provided. The absorbent article includes a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article includes a through-fluid bonded nonwoven web that has: a Martindale Average Abrasion Resistance Grade in the range of about 1.0 to about 2.5, a DMA Compression Resiliency in the range of about 25% to about 90%, and a Specific Nonwoven Volume in the range of about 25 cm.sup.3/g to about 100 cm.sup.3/g.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING TEXTURED ZONES

An absorbent article comprises a chassis having a belt portion extending therefrom. The belt portion comprises a side edge, a waist opening edge, a leg opening edge, first and second substrates engaged with each other, and elastic elements disposed intermediate the first substrate and the second substrate. The belt portion also comprises a first texture zone comprising a first portion of the substrates and the elastic strands and disposed adjacent to the side edge and the waist opening edge and a second texture zone comprising a second portion of the substrates and the elastic elements and disposed adjacent to the side edge and the leg opening edge. The first texture zone extends at least partially along a first lateral extent of the belt portion and the second texture zone extends at least partially along a second lateral extent of the belt portion.

A single step method for imparting a pattern of apertures in a fibrous nonwoven web is disclosed. The method may include providing a pinned roller bearing a pattern of aperturing pins thereon; providing an opposing roller; arranging the rollers so as to form a nip therebetween, wherein the nip has effectively zero clearance between top surfaces of the pins and outermost surfaces of the opposing roller; providing heating energy to one or both of rollers; rotating the rollers and conveying the nonwoven web through the nip, whereby material constituting fibers of the nonwoven web is at least partially melted and expressed from regions between the top surfaces of the pins and the opposing roller, and accumulates on the web about perimeter edges of the pin top surfaces. Resulting features of the nonwoven web, and products in which it may be incorporated as a component, are also disclosed.

An absorbent article comprises a chassis having a belt portion extending therefrom. The belt portion comprises a side edge, a waist opening edge, a leg opening edge, first and second substrates engaged with each other, and elastic elements disposed intermediate the first substrate and the second substrate. The belt portion also comprises a first texture zone comprising a first portion of the substrates and the elastic strands and disposed adjacent to the side edge and the waist opening edge and a second texture zone comprising a second portion of the substrates and the elastic elements and disposed adjacent to the side edge and the leg opening edge. The first texture zone extends at least partially along a first lateral extent of the belt portion and the second texture zone extends at least partially along a second lateral extent of the belt portion.
