Nonwoven Web With Enhanced Barrier Properties
This invention relates to nonwoven textile with barrier properties containing a first barrier layer A with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC A, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter in the layer of dAm, and a second barrier layer B with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC B, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter in the layer of dBm; while the first barrier layer A and the second barrier layer B are together in direct contact. The median diameters of fibres in the first and second layer have a theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x=(dBmdAm)/dAm, where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is less than or equal to 1 and where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is greater than or equal to 0.25, and the sum of the theoretical cover coefficient TCC A and TCC B is greater than or equal to 50%.
BIODEGRADABLE SANITARY ARTICLES WITH HIGHER BIOBASED CONTENT
The present invention is directed to sanitary articles such as disposable diapers, adult incontinent pads, feminine hygiene products, and sanitary napkins comprised of biodegradable polymers with higher biobased content. The sanitary articles include a topsheet, an absorbent core, and a backsheet. The topsheet is comprised of biodegradable polyester polyol polymer foam which may be configured to wick liquid away from a wearer's body and may be impregnated with superabsorbent polymer. The absorbent core may be comprised of superabsorbent polymer including a cross-linked and/or partially neutralized polyacrylic acid polymer, cross-linked polyacrylic acids or cross-linked starch-acrylic acid graft polymers. The backsheet may be comprised of poly-lactone polymers having generally hydrophobic characteristics. In preferred embodiments, the polymeric materials comprising the topsheet, absorbent core, and backsheet are formed from raw materials with high biobased content.
Absorbent articles having texture zones forming background patterns and macro patterns
An absorbent article comprises first and second substrates and one or more elastic elements disposed at least partially intermediate the substrates. The second substrate is attached to the first substrate and/or to portions of the elastic elements. The absorbent article comprises an adhesive having a first and second pattern of elements disposed on first substrate, and first and second texture zones. The first texture zone comprises a first portion of the substrates, a first portion of the elastic elements, and the first pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a background pattern in the first portion of the substrates. The second texture zone comprises a second portion of the substrates, a second portion of the one or more elastic elements, and the second pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a macro pattern in the second portion of the substrates.

NONWOVEN FABRICS COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID HAVING IMPROVED STRENGTH AND TOUGHNESS
Nonwoven fabrics having a plurality of fibers that are bonded to each other to form a coherent web, wherein the fibers comprise a blend of a polylactic acid (PLA) and at least one secondary alkane sulfonate are provided. The nonwoven fabrics exhibit increased tensile strengths, elongation and toughness.

Nonwoven And Absorbent Articles Having The Same
A nonwoven web having a first web layer and a second web layer are disclosed herein. Methods of making such webs and absorbent articles including those webs are also disclosed. The first web layer has a core/sheath first composite fiber having a fiber fineness no greater than about 2.5 denier. The second web layer has a core/sheath second composite fiber having a fiber fineness no greater than about 2.5 denier and a homopolymer fiber having a fiber fineness of greater than about 3 denier. The homopolymer fiber is less than about 30% by weight of the second web layer.
Absorbent Article Having A High Content Of Bio-Based Materials
Bio-based absorbent articles are provided. Bio-based absorbent articles include a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core sandwiched there between. The topsheet and backsheet are attached to each other along opposing surfaces to define a cavity in which the absorbent core is enclosed. The components of absorbent article are selected so that at least 75% of the material comprising the absorbent article comprises a bio-based material, and preferably at least 80%, 85%, 90%, and 95% of the material comprising the absorbent article comprises a bio-based material.
TREATED NONWOVEN HAVING AN AFFINITY FOR AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT
A nonwoven having a high affinity for an active ingredient is proved, the nonwoven having at least one high surface area fiber in addition to the active ingredient.
