Packaged feminine hygiene pad product adapted for discreet carry and access, and manufacturing process
A product including a feminine hygiene pad in a folded configuration provided within an individualized envelope package is disclosed. The pad is folded separately of the envelope package and is entirely contained within the package. The package has a rectangular shape and includes a section of polymeric film, a pair of side seams, and a closure flap overlapping an opening edge, wherein the package is configured to create an access opening upon lifting of the closure flap, while allowing material along the side seams to remain unseparated.
PATTERNED APERTURED WEBS
A patterned apertured web is disclosed. The patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some land areas of the plurality of land areas surround at least some apertures of the plurality of apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 3% to about 30%, according to the Aperture Test herein. The patterned apertured web has a plurality of Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test herein. The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean.
TAMPON FOR FEMININE HYGIENE
An absorbent tampon for feminine hygiene includes a radially compressed, elongate tampon pledget and a fluid transport element. The elongate tampon pledget includes a domed insertion end and a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves. At least a portion of the longitudinally extending grooves extend into the domed insertion end thereof. The fluid transport element includes an apertured polymeric film sheet disposed over the insertion end and attached to the elongate tampon pledget and a plurality of distal pleats to provide elements capable of extending away from the longitudinal surfaces of the elongate tampon pledget and a headspace between the domed insertion end and the apertured polymeric film sheet.
Extensible dressings
The present invention relates to dressings such as bandages or tapes improved extensibility. The present invention further relates to dressings such as bandages or tapes which are extensible so as to at least partially conform to a body contour at wound surface upon stretching of the dressing.
Dressing with variable contraction zones
A manifold for treating a tissue site may include a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The second side of the manifold may be configured to face the tissue site, and to contract a greater amount than the first side of the manifold when exposed to a compressive force. In some illustrative examples, the manifold may be configured to distribute reduced pressure to the tissue site, and to contract when exposed to the reduced pressure. The manifold may be suitable for use with dressing assemblies, treatment systems, and methods for treating a tissue site.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH IMPROVED LAMINATE TOPSHEET
An absorbent article having a topsheet of particular configuration and composition is disclosed. The topsheet may be a laminate web having an upper layer of polymer film, directly bonded to a lower layer of nonwoven web. The film may include predominantly polyethylene (PE), have a basis weight of 8-20 gsm, and have formed thereon a pattern of cones and valleys, the cones projecting upwardly from adjacent valleys to rim edges proximate an upper side of the laminate web, the cones circumscribing and defining apertures through the film. The nonwoven web may have a basis weight of 12-24 gsm, and include staple fibers, with randomly-distributed fiber-to-fiber fusion bonds thereamong. The staple fibers may have an average denier of 3-12, and be spun of one or more polyolefins. Each of the film and the staple fibers may be modified with one or more hydrophilizing agents.
Absorbent articles with indicia and/or color
An absorbent article is disclosed, including a three-dimensional material formed of a liquid permeable topsheet and an acquisition material. The acquisition material is positioned beneath the topsheet, and both may be formed of nonwoven material. The three dimensional material may have two surfaces and a plurality of protrusions extending in a z-direction from one of the surfaces, each protrusion having side walls defining an opening in the other of the surfaces. One of the topsheet and the acquisition material may include fibers spun of polymer resin pigmented with a first color that differs from a second color of fibers of the other of the topsheet and the acquisition material, and the differing colors are visible when viewing a wearer-facing surface of the absorbent article.
Polyolefin material having a low density
A polyolefin material that is formed by solid state drawing of a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and nanoinclusion additive is provided. The nanoinclusion additive is dispersed within the continuous phase as discrete nano-scale phase domains. When drawn, the nano-scale phase domains are able to interact with the matrix in a unique manner to create a network of nanopores.
The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean, wherein the mean is different than the median. The plurality of apertures include a first set of apertures defining a first shape and a second set of apertures defining a second shape. The first shape is positioned within the second shape.
Apertured webs and methods for making the same
A patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some of the land areas surround at least some of the apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 5% to about 50%, according to the Aperture Test. The patterned apertured web has a plurality of Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test. The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean. The mean is greater than the median.
