A patterned apertured web is disclosed. The patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some land areas of the plurality of land areas surround at least some apertures of the plurality of apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 3% to about 30%, according to the Aperture Test herein. The patterned apertured web has a plurality of Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test herein. The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean, wherein the mean is different than the median. The plurality of apertures include a first set of apertures defining a first shape and a second set of apertures defining a second shape. The first shape is positioned within the second shape.

A topsheet for an absorbent article is provided and has at least a first layer. The first layer comprises at least 15% by weight of natural fibers by total weight of the first layer. The first layer has a plurality of apertures. The first layer comprises land areas between a majority of the apertures. The contact angle on the land areas of the first layer between the majority of the apertures is more than 70° according to the contact angle test method. The topsheet has a run-off of less than 40% according to the run-off test method.

Topsheet comprising natural fibers

A topsheet for use in an absorbent article is provided and has at least a first layer. The first layer comprises at least 15% by weight of natural fibers by total weight of the first layer. The first layer has a plurality of apertures. The first layer comprises land areas between the plurality of the apertures. The contact angle on the land areas of the first layer between the plurality of the apertures is more than 70°, according to the Contact Angle Test Method. The topsheet has a run-off of less than 40%, according to the Run-off Test Method.

An absorbent article is provided herein that comprises a first layer with at least two conductive lines being provided thereon along and throughout its length, and a second porous layer overlaying the first layer. Conductive material is applied onto the second porous layer such that the conductive material impregnated into the second porous layer connects the conductive material on the top surface of the second porous layer to the conductive lines on the first layer.

An apertured nonwovens having a first nonwoven layer is described. The first nonwoven layer includes cellulose-based fibers and a plurality of apertures, wherein the plurality apertures have a minimum aperture distance between two adjacent apertures which has a relative standard deviation no greater than about 40%, as measured according to the Aperture Quality Test. The apertures have an aperture size no greater than about 2.2 mm.sup.2 and have an occlusion no greater than about 9%, as measured according to the Aperture Quality Test, or the apertures have an aspect ratio no greater than about 2.5 as measured according to the Aspect Ratio Test.

Apertured webs and methods for making the same

A patterned apertured web includes a plurality of land areas in the patterned apertured web and a plurality of apertures defined in the patterned apertured web. At least some of the land areas surround at least some of the apertures. The patterned apertured web has an Effective Open Area in the range of about 5% to about 50%, according to the Aperture Test. The patterned apertured web has a plurality of Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test. The Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a median and a mean. The mean is greater than the median.

Multilayer material and absorbent sanitary article comprising the same

The invention describes a multilayer material comprising at least one first layer made of polymeric material having an upper face and a second layer made of closed cell foamed polymeric material having a lower face. The multilayer material comprises through holes which cross both the layers and occupy a surface of between 1 and 40% of the total surface of the upper face of said multilayer material. The multilayer material is advantageously used in an absorbent sanitary article in which the upper face of the first layer is positioned externally so that in use it is in contact with the user's skin and the lower face of the second layer is positioned towards the inside of the sanitary article in contact with other layers of polymeric material.
