Low-bulk, close-fitting, high-capacity disposable absorbent pant
A low bulk, high capacity disposable absorbent pant is disclosed. The pant may have a variety of combinations of features that contribute to imparting the pant with a more close-fitting, discreet appearance, particularly under outer clothing, more resembling that of an ordinary undergarment. The features may include an arrangement of relatively closely-spaced elastomeric strands in a belt structure; elastomeric strands in the belt structure having active portions that traverse forward and rearward portions of an absorbent pad assembly; an arrangement of elastomeric strands in the belt structure below the side seams; an arrangement of longitudinal elastic strands in the absorbent pad assembly that are closer to the longitudinal axis of the pant than to the side seams; and/or an absorbent core structure having portions that are tapered and/or channeled.
Substrates and laminates for absorbent articles
The present disclosure provides substrates and laminates for absorbent articles and absorbent articles comprising the substrates or laminates. The substrates and laminates may have three-dimensional elements, land areas, and increased permeability regions intermediate at least some of the land areas and at least some of the three-dimensional elements. The increased permeability regions may be positioned adjacent to the three-dimensional elements. The land areas may have a first basis weight and the increased permeability regions may have a second basis weight. The first basis weight may be greater than the second basis weight.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING ELASTOMERIC STRIPS
The present invention discloses a disposable or wearable absorbent article (1) that includes one or more elastomeric strand(s) (14) and/or strip(s) (16) on/in the backsheet (12) layer, localized in the absorbent core (10) region. The absorbent article (1) is preferably a baby diaper, an incontinence diaper, a pant or a pull up garment. The article may have a topsheet (6), a backsheet (12) and absorbent core (10) disposed between the topsheet (6) and backsheet (12), and a pair of longitudinal side edges. Elastomeric strand(s) (14) and/or strip(s) (16) is attached in longitudinal axis of the backsheet (12) of the absorbent article (1) in stretched form, whereby backsheet takes a crinkled form when it is in relaxed state. The absorbent article (1) fits better on users buttocks without sagging when the article is being worn.
WEARABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH ROBUST-FEELING WAISTBAND STRUCTURE
A disposable diaper having front and rear augmented waistband zones having a specified size and stiffness is disclosed. For relatively thinner, less bulky diapers of currently marketed designs, providing augmented waistband zones is believed to reduce mental and physical effort for the caregiver in application of the diaper. The augmented waistband zones provide a robust-feeling structure proximate the waist edges, which the caregiver may grasp at front and rear to adjust the diaper on the wearer. Caregiver perception of a need to reach deeper into the diaper structure to grasp it at a thicker area to tug at it is believed to be reduced.
Method for production of disposable absorbent articles
A method for production of disposable hygienic absorbent articles, the method comprising advancing in a first direction a continuous length of a substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web having a maximum elastic extensibility in the first direction of at least 40% under a peak load F.sub.p; maintaining said substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web under a tensioning load F.sub.t in the first direction during the advancing, the tensioning load F.sub.t satisfying the condition: 0.03 F.sub.pF.sub.t0.25 F.sub.p; attaching individual absorbent cores to the substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web while maintaining said substantially homogeneous elastic laminate web under the tensioning load F.sub.t; and severing the substantially homogenous elastic laminate web into individual disposable hygienic absorbent articles.
STRAND-BASED LAMINATES IN ABSORBENT ARTICLES
Absorbent articles comprising a multilayer outer cover comprising a first outer layer and a second outer layer comprising a component that exhibits at least partial elastic recovery after mechanical activation in the machine direction; an inner layer, disposed between the first outer layer and the second outer layer, the inner layer comprising elastic strands; and wherein at least one of the first outer layer and second outer layer is laminated to the inner layer.
ACTIVATED FILMS HAVING LOW SOUND PRESSURE LEVELS
A film having low pressure values is provided. The film may have from about 20 wt. % to about 75 wt. % of a polyolefin component, from about 5 wt. % to about 35 wt. % of an elastomeric resin, and from about 20 wt. % to about 45 wt. % of a particle component. The film may have a basis weight of from about 5 gsm to about 25 gsm. The film may have a predicted sound pressure level over the frequency octave range of 2000 Hz-6300 Hz of less than about 43 dB.
Beamed elastomeric laminate structure, fit, and texture
The present disclosure relates to stranded elastomeric laminates (including bi-laminates and tri-laminates) comprising beamed elastics and may have inventive Dtex-to-Nonwoven-Basis-Weight-Ratios, Dtex-to-Spacing-Ratios, and/or Void-Area-to-Strand-Area-Ratios. The stranded laminates of the present disclosure may be used for disposable absorbent article components (including pant belts) and may comprise inventive bonding arrangements that yield inventive textures and texture arrangements. When the inventive stranded elastomeric laminates are used for pant belts, the pants may have inventive Application-Forces, Sustained-Fit-Load-Forces, and Sustained-Fit-Unload-Forces. Further, when absorbent articles are packaged under compression at inventive In-Bag-Stack-Heights, the stranded elastomeric laminates of the present disclosure maintain their inventive properties and characteristics, including their inventive textures.
