The present subject matter relates to absorbent articles and signaling devices for use therewith. The signaling device can be configured to detect the presence of an insult in the absorbent article and/or in an undergarment. The signaling device can be further configured to determine whether the insult is a urine insult or a feces insult. The signaling device can provide a notification to a user that an insult has occurred and can inform the user whether the insult is a urine insult or a feces insult.

A durable underwear brief panty adapted to accommodate an absorbent component is disclosed. The panty may include a crotch portion that exhibits a crotch longitudinal Elongation of 5 percent to 100 percent and a crotch longitudinal Tensile Modulus of 20 gf/mm to 100 gf/mm; and a crotch lateral Elongation of 50 percent to 200 percent and a crotch lateral Tensile Modulus of 2 gf/mm to 20 gf/mm. A combination of a brief panty and an absorbent pad, and an array including a brief panty product and an absorbent pad product, are also disclosed. The products are useful for management of incontinence.

A waterproof menstrual pad having an outer portion to contact a woman's underwear and an inner portion to contact a groin area of the woman, the waterproof menstrual pad including an absorbent portion disposed at a center portion of an inner surface of the inner portion to absorb blood, and an outer-edge waterproof lining disposed along an outer edge of the inner surface of the inner portion to prevent water from entering the inner surface.

Described herein are systems and apparatuses for enhanced comfort through contact pressure reduction. In particular, the systems and apparatuses disclosed herein prevent or otherwise mitigate pressure by actively orienting a patient over an anatomy-specific pressure-mitigating contact surface on which the patient rests. A pressure-mitigating contact portion of the contact surface includes a plurality of independently pressurized chambers configured in a specific geometric pattern that is designed to mitigate contact pressure between a support surface (e.g., bed or chair) and a specific anatomic region of a patient's body when the specific anatomic region of the patient's body is oriented over an epicenter of the geometric pattern. Additionally, a plurality of elevated side support portions and a wedge interconnected on the base material are configured to actively orient the specific anatomic region of the patient's body over the epicenter of the geometric pattern.

A first pattern of adhesive is applied to the central section of a garment facing surface of the backsheet. The first pattern of adhesive has a first plurality of stripes extending substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a first side of the central longitudinal axis. A second plurality of stripes extends substantially parallel to the transverse axis on a second side of the central longitudinal axis. Introduced here are pressure-mitigation systems able to mitigate the pressure applied to a human body by a surface and associated methods for operating the same. A system can include a pressure-mitigation surface with a plurality of chambers whose pressure can be varied by a controller that regulates the flow of fluid produced by a pump. The plurality of chambers may be arranged in a geometric pattern designed to mitigate the pressure on a specific anatomic region when the human body is arranged over the pressure-mitigation surface.

A method for manufacturing feminine hygiene pad products is disclosed. The method may include: providing a continuous stream of pads moving along a machine direction; orienting each of the pads such that its longitudinal axis is substantially aligned with a cross direction; providing a continuous web of backsheet adhesive coversheet material moving along the machine direction, the material bearing a series of spaced separation perforations along cross direction lines of separation, or alternatively, providing such separation perforations; providing deposits of backsheet adhesive between the material and the pads; successively disposing the pads in contact with the material, wherein the pads are adhered to the material by the backsheet adhesive; and following such disposition of the pads, successively separating each pad, together with a portion of the material, from a following pad, and from the material, along the separation perforations, thereby creating individual pads each bearing an individual backsheet adhesive coversheet.
