Absorbent article with cushion layer defining air pockets
Disposable absorbent articles and methods of making disposable absorbent articles that comprise: an absorbent structure; and a layer of cushion material configured to minimize user perception of hardness or hard spots in the absorbent structure.
COMPOSITE ABSORBENT BODY AND POLYMERIC ABSORBER
A composite absorbent body for absorbing a liquid and for use as a sanitary article contains a polymeric absorber equipped with a hydrophilic continuous framework and continuous pores. The ratio of pore volume from pores having a pore radius of 1 ?m or higher in the polymeric absorber is at least 90% of the pore volume of all pores.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH A FOAM AND FIBER COMPOSITE
The foam and fiber composite can provide an absorbent article with improved dryness and an improved liquid distribution capability. The foam and fiber composite can be formed from at least two materials. The first material is an open cell foam material and the second material is a fibrous material. A plurality of the fibers forming the fibrous material can be fluid inserted into the open cell foam material thereby forming the foam and fiber composite. In various embodiments, the foam and fiber composite can be incorporated into an absorbent article as a component of an absorbent system located between a topsheet layer and a backsheet layer of the absorbent article.
ABSORBENT PRODUCT COMPRISING FOAM MATERIAL
Absorbent product includes a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core enclosed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core includes a liquid inlet foam material located closest to the liquid pervious topsheet and an absorbent fibrous layer located closest to the impervious backsheet. The liquid inlet foam material has in the transversal direction of the absorbent product two edge regions and one central region located between the edge regions. The central region has a plurality of openings formed from a plurality of slits extending in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent product and that openings have been formed from the slits by expanding the continuous liquid inlet foam material in the transversal direction of the product, and that each edge region of the liquid inlet foam material has a width that is at least 5.0 mm and is free from openings.
FOAMED COMPOSITE WEB WITH LOW WET COLLAPSE
An absorbent composite foam is provided having a density below 0.04 g/cc and low wet collapse comprising (i) between about 5 to about 40% by wt. fluid resistant fibers; (ii) between about 30 to about 80% by wt. cellulosic fibers; (iii) between about 5 to about 35% by wt. binder; and (iv) a foaming surfactant. The combination of ultra-low density and wet stability is achieved, despite a high proportion of cellulosic fibers, by having both hydrogen bonding between cellulosic fibers as well as inter-fiber bonds formed by the binder.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING FLEXIBLE POLYMERIC FOAM AND INTERMEDIATES
Absorbent articles are described comprising a first absorbent layer comprising a polymeric foam. In one embodiment, the polyurethane foam comprises the reaction product of a polymeric polyisocyanate component having an equivalent weight of no greater than 250 g/equivalent; and a polyol component. The polyol component comprises one or more polyether polyols such that the polyol component comprises an average equivalent weight ranging from 500 to 2000 g/equivalent; an ethylene oxide content ranging from 15-30 wt.-%; a secondary hydroxyl content of at least 55 wt.-% and less than 80 wt.-% of the total hydroxyl content of the polyol component; and less than 5 wt-% water. Also described are various composites comprising the polyurethane foam described herein in combination with another substrate such as a second absorbent layer, a fluid impervious backsheet, and/or a fluid pervious topsheet.
Open cell foam associated with a second open cell foam
An absorbent structure having a first open cell foam associated with a second open cell foam.
Absorbent Articles With Channels
The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core comprises an absorbent material positioned within a core wrap. The absorbent core defines a first channel therein. A material is positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the core wrap. The material defines a second channel therein.
Absorbent articles with channels
The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid management system (LMS) and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate a topsheet and a backsheet. The LMS defines one or more channels therein. The one or more channels of the LMS may at least partially overlap or not overlap with channels defined in the absorbent core.
THIN AND FLEXIBLE ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present invention relates to an absorbent article, comprising a fluid permeable topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent element disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet wherein the absorbent article has a caliper expansion measured at 5 minutes of at least 275%. The present invention also relates to an absorbent article, comprising a fluid permeable topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent element disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet wherein the absorbent article has a dry caliper of 4.5 mm or less and wherein the absorbent article has a caliper expansion, measured at five minutes of at least 75%. The present invention also relates to an absorbent article, comprising a fluid permeable topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent element disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet wherein a ratio of the caliper expansion measured at 5 minutes to the dry peak stiffness is at least 0.5%/N.
