Process for producing a web substrate having indicia disposed thereon and elastic-like behavior imparted thereto
A process for providing indicia and an elastic-like behavior to a web substrate is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of: providing a web substrate; printing indicia on the web substrate; and, providing the web substrate with a plurality of first regions and a plurality of second regions comprising the same material composition. A portion of the first regions extend in a first direction while the remainder of the first regions extend in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to intersect one another. The first regions form a boundary completely surrounding the second regions. The second regions comprise a plurality of raised rib-like elements. The first regions undergo a molecular level and geometric deformation and the second regions initially undergo a substantially geometric deformation when the web material is subjected to an applied elongation along at least one axis.
Method for producing composite structures with a plurality of absorbent foam particulates
Methods for producing composite structures with a plurality of absorbent foam particulates between substrates, wherein the method includes providing a carrier substrate. The carrier substrate may comprise a pre-determined pattern. The pre-determined pattern may comprise z-directional deflections. The methods may also comprise placing a plurality of absorbent foam particulates onto the carrier substrate, forming a loaded carrier substrate. The methods may further comprise providing a particulate settling means enabled to affect the loaded carrier substrate, affecting the loaded carrier substrate, forming a settled carrier substrate. The methods may further comprise associating a cover with the settled carrier substrate, forming a composite structure.
Absorbent article
An absorbent article that includes: a liquid-permeable topsheet; a liquid-impermeable backsheet; and an absorbent sheet which is arranged between the topsheet and the backsheet and which has a pulp. A plurality of hole portions passing through from the topsheet side to the backsheet side are formed in the absorbent sheet. The topsheet is arranged so as to cover the hole portions of the absorbent sheet. The absorbent sheet has: a plurality of first regions which are bonded with the backsheet at a periphery of the hole portions; and a second region between the plurality of first regions. At least a part of the second region is spaced from the backsheet, and is arranged at the topsheet side more significantly than the first region.
Disposable absorbent article
A disposable absorbent undergarment is disclosed. It includes an absorbent assembly comprising a core formed of a synthetic tow or of synthetic nonwoven layers and having first section comprising a slow acting but high absorption capacity SAP and a second section comprising a fast acting but lower absorption capacity SAP, all of which is wrapped in a wrapper to hold the SAP in place. The absorbent assembly may be quilted and corrugated. The undergarment also includes releasably securable fasteners to enable it to be readily removed and a suspension system to ensure that the garment fits properly and doesn't leak even when holding a large amount of exudate. Odor removal/masking and treatment features may be provided. It addition the undergarment may include a wetness indicator.
