Absorbent article with improved bonding

An absorbent article is provided. The absorbent article includes a liquid pervious film topsheet having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface; a backsheet having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface; an absorbent core having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface, the absorbent core being provided between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a bonding layer having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface. The body facing surface of the bonding layer has a fibrous matrix comprising cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic fibers, and the garment facing surface of the topsheet is directly bonded to the body facing surface of the bonding layer at discrete adhesive-free bond points.

ABSORBENT STRUCTURE

An absorbent structure is disclosed. The absorbent structure includes a first fibrous layer having a first surface and a second surface and a second layer having a first surface and second surface. The first fibrous layer is substantially planar and the second absorbent layer includes voids within the layer. The absorbent structure first fibrous layer and the second layer exhibit a structural integrity substantially equal to an absorbent structure without voids.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES WITH CHANNELS

The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid management system (LMS) and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate a topsheet and a backsheet. The LMS defines one or more channels therein. The one or more channels of the LMS may at least partially overlap or not overlap with channels defined in the absorbent core.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH AN INTERMEDIATE LAYER COMPRISING CHANNELS AND BACK POCKET

An absorbent article for personal hygiene has a fibrous intermediate layer between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The intermediate layer may include a first and second longitudinally-extending channels on opposite side of the longitudinal axis which are connected to a back pocket so that they together form a unitary area substantially free of fibrous material. The intermediate layer may further include a central area comprising fibrous material between the channels and the unitary area may be completely surrounded by the fibrous material.

TOPSHEETS INTEGRATED WITH HETEROGENOUS MASS LAYER

An absorbent article and method of making the absorbent article are disclosed. The absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core structure having one or more layers wherein at least one layer is a heterogeneous mass layer, wherein the topsheet and the heterogeneous mass are integrated such that they reside in the same X-Y plane.

Absorbent article having fluid flow control member

An absorbent article, the absorbent article being a personal hygiene article, includes a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, an absorbent core enclosed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a fluid flow control member arranged between the top sheet and the backsheet. The fluid flow control member is a spacer fabric including a top layer, a bottom layer and an interconnecting layer of pile filaments between the top layer and the bottom layer. The spacer fabric has a ratio of thickness to basis weight at 15 kPa of at least 1.5.Math.10.sup.5 m/gsm, as measured according to the Mecano-method disclosed herein.

The present invention relates to a thin, flexible absorbent article which comprises a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and an acquisition-distribution system (ADS) disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The ADS comprises a first layer comprising a nonwoven. The first layer comprises a first stratum facing towards the topsheet and comprising first absorbing fibers, a second stratum facing towards the backsheet and comprising second absorbing fibers, and a plurality of apertures. A percentage of the second absorbing fibers in the second stratum is at least about 15% higher than a percentage of the first absorbing fibers in the first-stratum as measured according to the Fiber Number Test.

Fluid management layer for an absorbent article

A fluid management layer having an integrated, carded, nonwoven is described. The fluid management layer has a basis weight of between about 40 grams per square meter (gsm) and about 75 gsm; a plurality of absorbent fibers, a plurality of stiffening fibers and a plurality of resilient fibers; wherein the fluid management layer exhibits a total compression of greater than 0.40 mm and has a total recovery of at least 0.35 mm, and wherein the fluid management layer has a density of less than or equal to 0.08 g/cc.

Systems And Methods Of Applying Compositions To Webs And Webs Thereof

A web having compositions applied thereto is disclosed. The web has a plurality of discontinuities. The composition(s) are associated with the discontinuities and can improve fluid acquisition, rewet and/or fluid masking properties of the web.

DEVICE FOR MONITORING A STATE OF A LIVING BEING AND CORRESPONDING METHOD

A device for monitoring a state of a living being includes a first sensor, a second sensor and an evaluation device. The first sensor non-invasively generates a measurement value based on a content of ammonia in the sweat of the living being. The second sensor generates a measurement value with respect to the respiration or the cardiac activity of the living being. The evaluation device generates a scalar measure of a stress of the living being based on the measurement values of the first and second sensors. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding method.
