ABSORBENT SHEET FOR PETS
An absorbent sheet for a pet toilet is provided. The pet toilet includes: a sheet accommodating portion that accommodates the absorbent sheet in a space surrounded by a bottom portion and side walls standing from the bottom portion; and an excretion receiving portion that receives excretions above the sheet accommodating portion and guides the excretions to the sheet accommodating portion. The absorbent sheet includes: a topsheet on a top side of the absorbent sheet and that includes fibers; a backsheet on a back side of the absorbent sheet; an absorber between the topsheet and the backsheet; a central region in which the absorber is disposed in plan view; and side regions that extend outside the central region and in which at least the topsheet is disposed.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING WIPE WITH INDICATION OF PROPER USE
A disposable wipe comprising a main body including a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is comprised of one or more layers of a cleaning material and at least one of a chemical or a chemical solution. The second surface is comprised of a plurality of layers, at least one of the layers comprising an indication system for indicating proper use of the disposable wipe.
BREAST PAD
A breast pad for receiving fluid leaked from a subject's breast includes an inner layer disposed for contacting the subject's breast. The inner layer has an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The inner layer includes wicking material for wicking fluid from the inner surface to the outer surface away from the subject's breast. An intermediate layer is disposed over the outer surface of the inner layer. The intermediate layer includes an absorbent material for absorbing the fluid wicked from the subject's breast by the wicking material of the inner layer. An outer layer is disposed over the intermediate layer. The outer layer includes a liquid-impermeable material for trapping the fluid absorbed by the intermediate layer within the breast pad.
Abdominal aeration tissue retraction systems and methods
A tissue retraction system that allows aeration in a skinfold of a patient needing medical attention may include a flexible frame having a defined body shape comprising an internal facing surface configured to face a crease in the skinfold, an external facing surface opposite the internal facing surface configured to face outwardly and away from the patient, a first tissue facing surface, and a second tissue facing surface opposing the first tissue facing surface. Each of the first and the second tissue facing surfaces may be configured to engage against opposing sides of the skinfold.
FIBROUS STRUCTURE EXHIBITING AN ANTIMICROBIAL EFFECT
A fibrous structure exhibits an absorbency time of equal to or less than 1.5 s and exhibits an antimicrobial effect.
HIGHLY ABSORBENT RESISTANT WASHABLE AND REUSABLE UNDERGARMENTS, METHODS OF USE, KITS AND USES THERETO
An undergarment article has a fabric a fabric layer for wearing about a pelvic region of a person, a water-repellent layer coupled to a crotch portion of the fabric layer to form an inner chamber, and an inner pad disposed within the inner chamber between the water-repellent layer and the fabric layer. The inner pad is resistant to heat and includes a liquid-absorbent layer and a waterproof layer. The liquid-absorbent layer contacts the water-repellent layer and is effective for absorbing a volume of liquid greater than 2 fluid ounces. The waterproof layer is effective for restricting liquid from reaching the fabric layer. The crotch portion of the fabric layer and the water-repellent layer can be substantially elastic in at least one of a lateral direction and a longitudinal direction of the crotch portion. Methods for using the undergarment, kits and uses of the undergarment are also disclosed.
Water soluble essential oils and their use
Methods for adjusting the solubility of a botanical oil in water, along with the resulting modified botanical oil and related products (e.g., treatment compositions, wipes, absorbent articles, etc.) are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes reacting the botanical oil to form a reactive product (e.g., having a hydroxyl group); and attaching a hydrophilic end group (e.g., a carboxylic acid, a carboxylic acid salt, a sugar, etc.) on the reactive product to form a modified botanical oil. The modified botanical oil generally, in most embodiments, has a greater solubility in water than the botanical oil (e.g., a solubility in water of about 10 grams per 100 grams of water or greater, such as completely soluble in water). The botanical oil includes, in one particular embodiment, an essential oil, such as those essential oil that include at least one terpene compound.
Absorbent article
An absorbent article has a planar direction and a thickness direction. The absorbent article includes a volatile first functional component, a volatile second functional component, water-disintegrable microcapsules that contain the second functional component, and a solvent that keeps the second functional component contained inside the microcapsules. Between a liquid-permeable layer and an absorption layer, the absorbent article has functional composition coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with the functional composition, and has adhesive coated regions that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with an adhesive. The adhesive coated regions have an adhesive region that directly or indirectly joins the liquid-permeable payer and the absorption layer.
ANTI-MICROBIAL, SENSOR AND PROCESS THEREFORE
A process for preventing multiplication of a bacteria, virus, or fungus, via: embedding Cu+ and Cu+++ ions into a material; contacting the bacteria, virus, or fungus with the material; and diffusing the Cu+ and Cu+++ ions into a cell and thereby reducing a biological energy-producing ability of the cell, via creating an inhibitory protein molecular structure degrading a membrane anatomy of the cell, thus suffocating the cell, thus protecting a skin from infection and preventing multiplication of the bacteria, virus, or fungus. Also described is a process for sensing: a load, a strain, or a liquid, on a fabric, that includes forming the fabric comprising a multi-walled nanomaterial tube copper bio-sensor via: spacing apart from one another, rows of multi-walled nanofibers, the rows of multi-wall nanofibers comprising copper; and spacing a continuous filament apart from and disposed substantially perpendicular to the rows of multi-walled nanofibers.
WOUND DRESSING WITH ODOR ABSORPTION AND INCREASED MOISTURE VAPOR TRANSMISSION
A wound dressing includes a superabsorbent layer, a backing layer, and a charcoal layer. The superabsorbent layer is configured to absorb wound fluid and has a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The backing layer also has a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The backing layer is substantially impermeable to liquid and substantially permeable to vapor. The charcoal layer is positioned between the first side of the superabsorbent layer and the second, wound-facing side of the backing layer. The charcoal layer is configured to increase a moisture vapor transmission rate of the wound dressing.
