Walk therapy station

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a walking therapy station having multiple right linkages and multiple left linkages, where at least one of the right or left linkages is operably coupled to an actuator to transition the station from a standing mode to a walking mode. In an illustrative example, the station may have five right linkages and five left linkages, with a set of knee pads and foot pads. The station may include an actuator operably coupled to transition the station between walking and standing modes, for example. Various embodiments of the station may enable a user who is disabled or paralyzed to transition from sitting position, to a standing position, and then to a walking position, and provide the user with a very accurate gait and walking motion without putting excessive shear and pressure at the contact points between the station and the user.

THERAPY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE FOR KNEE EXTENSION
20200197251 · 2020-06-25 ·

A knee extension apparatus for use to decrease flexure contraction of the knee of the user includes a frame having opposite sides and a handle portion. A first strap is assembled to the frame and extends between opposite sides. A second strap is assembled to the frame and extends between opposite sides. A third strap, also assembled to the frame and extending between opposite sides, is specifically positioned to be proximal to the knee of the user. In order to position the third strap in this location the length of the frame must be extended consistent with the method of use.

STRETCHING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF STRETCHING
20200197743 · 2020-06-25 ·

A hands-free human exercise apparatus and method, including a method of use. The stretching apparatus and method promote beneficial stretching of ambulatory muscles for a broad spectrum of users, to maintain and increase flexibility and dexterity, improved joint health, mobility, or pain management, and facilitating greater balance and proprioception and stimulating rehabilitation. The apparatus includes a multi-directional, multi-configurable, and adjustable harness comprising a one or dual strap configuration having a unique multi joint activating foot anchor. The apparatus and method facilitate stretching of a single leg, or both legs, through the ambulatory chain of muscles and joints, and with the foot anchor exploiting the flexion of the spine, full extension of the leg and pelvis, and the full flexion of the user's foot.

Orthosis for range of motion

An orthosis for increasing range of motion of a body joint. The orthosis includes a rotational linkage mechanism having a driving link and a driven link configured for rotation about a joint axis. The driven link is selectively attachable to a body part to rotate the body part about the joint axis. A dynamic force mechanism is operatively connected between the driving link and driven link to impart a dynamic force upon the driven link when the driving link rotates relative to the driven link and the driven link resists rotation with the driving link due to a resistance force imparted on the driven link by the body part reaching a maximum range of motion. The dynamic force is transferred through the driven link to the body part.

Patient aid devices, particularly for mobile upper extremity support in railed devices such as parallel bars and treadmills
10617906 · 2020-04-14 · ·

Patient aid devices and an associated method of supporting an upper extremity are described and include a mobile upper extremity support for the patient. A support assembly supports a first side of an upper body of the user for movement along a first rail. The support assembly also allows motion of a second side of an upper body relative to the first side.

WEARABLE ANCHOR FOR A THERAPY DEVICE
20200086159 · 2020-03-19 ·

A wearable anchor having a support base, a locking mechanism, and a securing strap and which can be used to mechanically fix a therapy device a desired position relative to a user while performing desired therapy motions. The support base defines an arcuate body suitable to be placed against the thigh of the user, with the securing strap operating to hold it against the user's thigh. The locking mechanism employs a pair of slots positioned above the support base. In this regard, the locking mechanism provides a securing structure to which the cords can be fastened to, thereby allowing the therapy device to be fixed in place without requiring that the user manually hold the therapy device in place. As such, the user can more easily perform therapy motions which require the that the therapy device be held in place, such as static progressive stretch therapy motions.

ELECTRIC WALKING ASSISTIVE DEVICE FOR MULTIMODE WALKING TRAINING AND THE CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
20200085668 · 2020-03-19 ·

The present invention provides a plurality of training modes for an electric walking rehabilitative device, including: constant speed mode, adaptive speed mode, strengthening push/pull mode, weight bearing mode, high frequency disturbance random speed mode, low frequency perturbation variable speed mode, direction control by handle push/pull forces mode, and slope mode, to improve the user's walking speed, muscle strength, balance, speed adjustment, direction control and slope walking.

PORTABLE LOWER LIMB THERAPY DEVICE
20200086173 · 2020-03-19 ·

A portable lower limb therapy device having a support base and a pulley system. The support base includes a platform member fixably mounted on top of a slider and a heel panel positioned behind the platform member. The heel panel, which sits orthogonally relative to the platform member, is attached to the slider so as to extend from the rear end of the slider. The pulley system defines a closed force transfer system that is integrated with the support base. The pulley system employs a cord member, a support member, a cross member, and two handles and is configured to transfer force applied behind the heel panel to the platform member as well as force applied above a user's foot that is positioned on top of the platform member to the platform member.

Calf-stretching device

The calf-stretching device is a mechanical apparatus. The calf-stretching device is configured for use by a patient. The calf-stretching device is configured for use in exercise. The patient uses the calf-stretching device to stretch the calf as a part of an exercise program. The calf-stretching device comprises a foot bed and a supporting structure. The supporting structure holds the foot bed at a stretch angle. The supporting structure is a rotating structure. The foot of the patient rests on the foot bed during use of the calf-stretching device. The foot rotates the supporting structure to vary the stretch angle of the foot bed during use of the calf-stretching device. The orientation of the foot bed within the supporting structure is adjustable such that the range of the stretch angle available to the patient over the exercise period can be adjusted.
