Liquid transfer device with dual lumen IV spike
A liquid transfer device includes a vial adapter that receives a vial. The vial adapter includes a vial spike that punctures a vial stopper of the vial and defines a vial spike lumen. The liquid transfer device also includes an intravenous (IV) port that receives a port spike of an infusion set. The liquid transfer device also includes a connector body including a vial adapter lumen in fluid communication with the vial spike lumen, a barrel connected to the IV port, and an IV spike including a central wall. The central wall defines a first IV spike lumen in fluid communication with the vial adapter lumen and a second IV spike lumen in fluid communication with the IV port. The first IV spike lumen and the second IV spike lumen are separated by the central wall.
Medicament container and drug delivery device
The present disclosure relates to a medicament container, configured as a flexible bag. The flexible bag includes a proximal end and a distal end having an outlet port. The flexible bag is configured to increase in length between the proximal end and the distal end when being collapsed.
Mixing and/or reconstitution system
The mixing system includes an adaptor, an integrated injection device removably attached to the adaptor comprising a switching element, a first reservoir containing a fluidic first material, and a trigger. The adaptor includes a first attachment location configured to attach a vial. The vial contains a second material within a second reservoir, wherein the second material contains a medicament formulation. The adaptor also includes a first connection element, a flow channel providing fluid communication of the switching element and the first connection element, a sensing arrangement for detecting a pre-defined position of the vial at the first attachment location, and an interlock element which is configured to allow operation of the trigger in order to establish a fluid communication between the first connection element and the first reservoir only if the sensing arrangement detects the pre-defined position of the vial at the first attachment location.
Reconstitution device, system and method
A disposable fluid transfer and mixing device is disclosed and includes an injector support surface for receiving an injection device thereon. A lyophilized drug vial, a diluent vial and a syringe are also attached to the device. The device features fluid passageways and a manual valve that may be manipulated so that the syringe may be used to transfer diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial, for reconstitution of the drug. The valve may also be configured so that the reconstituted drug is transferred from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device. An automated transfer and mixing device receives an injection device, a lyophilized drug vial and a diluent vial and transfers diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial and shakes or vibrates the lyophilized drug vial to reconstitute the drug. The device then transfers the reconstituted drug from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device.
CONNECTOR
There is provided a connector, for introducing or extracting a material to or from at least one receptacle, comprising a housing extending between a distal end and a proximal end, the housing comprising, at least at one end, a pierceable seal; a hollow needle mounted, at least partially, within the housing between the distal end and the proximal end of the housing, a first end of the hollow needle being connected or connectable to a first corresponding receptacle, and a second end of the hollow needle facing the pierceable seal at an end of the housing; and an actuating mechanism acting on the housing or the hollow needle to enable the hollow needle to pierce the pierceable seal thereby forming a communication through the pierceable seal, such that material is able to transfer through the connector.
SEPTUM HOLDERS FOR USE IN SYRINGE CONNECTORS
Some embodiments relate to a septum holder comprising a body, a septum attached to the body, and an insert comprising at least one bore configured to form a seat of a needle valve. The insert can be held in place between at least a portion of the septum and at least a portion of the body.
PRE-FILLED MULTI-FLUID MEDICAL DELIVERY ASSEMBLIES
A pre-filled medical delivery assembly can have first and second blow-fill-seal (BFS) modules and first and second connectors. Each BFS module can have a reservoir with a fluid agent and a neck with a seal. Each connector can have a respective recess with a piercing element. The first connector can have an outlet port, and the second connector can have an inlet/outlet (I/O) port. The connectors can be coupled together via the outlet and I/O ports. The neck of each BFS module can be inserted into the recess of the respective connector such that the piercing element breaches the seal, thereby providing a fluid path between the reservoirs. The disclosed assemblies can allow the combination of separate fluid agents via the coupled connectors and subsequently delivery of the combination as a single dose of a therapeutic agent to a patient by replacing the first connector with an administration hub.
Binary Connector for Reconstitution
A connector is configured to connect a drug container with a solution container and permit contents of the drug container to be combined with the solution container. The connector has a connector body with a first coupling for fluid connection with the drug container. The first coupling defines a first fluid passage. The connector body also has a second coupling for fluid connection with the solution container. The second coupling defines a second fluid passage. A control valve has a movable valve body that defines a third fluid passage. The valve body is positionable relative to the connector body in a first position, in which the first fluid passage is sealed from the second fluid passage. The valve body is also positionable in a second position, in which the first fluid passage is connected in fluid communication with the second fluid passage by the third fluid passage.
Fluid valve and fluid connection system
The invention relates to a fluid valve and fluid connection system, comprising a casing having a chamber with a first internal connection element and a first external connection element; comprising a first movable valve element in the chamber; and comprising an actuating element which has a fluid communication system with a second internal connection element and a second external connection element; wherein the first internal connection element cooperates with the second internal connection element and the valve element to establish or block a fluid connection between the first and second external connection elements.
LIQUID TRANSFER DEVICE WITH DUAL LUMEN IV SPIKE
A liquid transfer device includes a barrel to fluidly connect to an infusion set, a vial adapter in communication with a vial adapter lumen and having a vial spike, and an intravenous (IV) spike to be sealingly inserted into an intravenous administration port of a container of an infusion liquid. The vial spike punctures a stopper of a vial containing a medicament. The IV spike has a first IV spike lumen fluidly connected to the vial adapter lumen and a second IV spike lumen fluidly connected to the infusion set. The liquid transfer device defines a first fluid path through the vial adapter lumen and the first IV spike lumen to introduce medicament from the vial to the container. The liquid transfer device also defines a second fluid path through the second IV spike lumen to pass the medicated infusion liquid from the container to the infusion set.
