A disposable receptacle useful with an infant feeding system, including a pliable pouch. The pliable pouch may have a single compartment, or a pair of compartments wherein a first compartment is filled with powdered formula, and a second compartment is filled with distilled water. When compartmentalized, the compartments are separated by a burst seal designed to fail upon subjection to pressure of between about 1-3 lbs. The receptacles include a cylindrical fitment with a one-way valve removably positioned therewithin. A top seal of the pliable pouch is secured about the body of the fitment. The receptacles may be used with an infant feeding system having a support disc with an aperture to receive and secure the fitment, and a nipple having an internal chamber sized and configured to tightly and removably receive a portion of the fitment. The infant feeding system may optionally include a bottle and a securing ring.

DEVICES FOR RECONSTITUTING AND DELIVERING LYOPHILIZED DRUGS

The present disclosure relates to drug delivery devices, and in particular, to drug delivery devices configured to reconstitute a lyophilized drug powder into liquid form prior to delivery into a patients body. In some embodiments, such devices include a flexible drug reservoir having a proximal reservoir component storing a liquid diluent and a distal reservoir component storing a lyophilized drug powder, wherein the two compartments are separated by a frangible seal. A compression member may be positioned above the reservoir and held up by a releasable mechanism. When released, the compression member may be driven downwards to compress the proximal compartment so as to break the frangible seal and allow the diluent to mix with the drug powder and form a liquid drug mixture, and then to eject the liquid drug mixture from the reservoir.

A flow path sealing structure according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, which is disposed on a way of a flow path formed by fusion bonding a pair of resin sheets that are superimposed on each other, includes a widened portion surrounded by a widened seal portion formed by fusion bonding together the pair of resin sheets around a periphery thereof, and one end and another end of which are in communication with the flow path, together with being formed to be wider than the flow path, and a weakly sealed portion formed to extend in a widthwise direction in the widened portion, and which partitions the widened portion in a liquid-tight and airtight manner into the one end and the other end, together with being capable of being opened by increasing an internal pressure of the widened portion.

PARENTERAL NUTRITION FORMULATION WITH OPTIMIZED AMINO ACID AND GLUCOSE CONTENT

The present disclosure relates to a sterile medical product for parenteral nutrition comprising a polymeric container having at least a first and a second chamber which are separated by a non-permanent peel seal, wherein the first chamber contains a composition of amino acids and optionally electrolytes, and wherein the second chamber contains a dextrose solution, and wherein the product is characterized by a high protein (nitrogen) content per volume. The reconstituted solution is configured to be administered peripherally or centrally for the treatment of patients suffering from malnutrition and/or having a need for increased uptake of amino acids.

Systems, Methods, and Apparatuses for Producing and Packaging Fluids

A liquid concentrate generation system may comprise a manifold having an inlet receptacle including a first piercing member, an outlet receptacle including a second piercing member, and a flow channel connecting the inlet receptacle and outlet receptacle. The system may further comprise a cartridge having an inlet port and an outlet port sealed by a respective first and second cover. The inlet and outlet port may be respectively configured to displace within the inlet receptacle and outlet receptacle from an unspiked position to a spiked position. First and second piercing members may be in communication with the flow channel and spaced apart respectively from the first and second cover in the unspiked position. Variable rate dispenser with aseptic spike connector assembly

A dispenser includes a container with an endwall and a cap covering the endwall. The cap has an aperture and a first film covering the aperture. A hood over the cap has a barrel defining a bore which is coaxially aligned with the aperture, a second film sealing the bore, and a gasket compressed behind the second film. A spike is carried for movement in the barrel between retracted and advanced positions. The dispenser has first and second conditions. In the first condition, the first and second films are against each other and seal the aperture and barrel, and in the second condition, the first and second films are away, unsealing the aperture and the barrel. When the dispenser is in the second condition and the spike moves from the retracted position to the advanced position, the spike pierces the endwall.
