Closed fluid transfer system
A closed fluid transfer system for fluidly interconnecting a syringe to any one of a patient I.V. set, a vial and an I.V. bag, is provided and includes a first adapter defining a lumen and supporting a seal across a first end of its lumen, the first adapter supporting a rear end of a needle within the lumen, wherein the seal is movable relative to the needle such that a tip of the needle penetrates through the seal; and a second adapter defining a lumen and supporting a seal across a first end of its lumen; wherein when the second adapter is coupled to the first adapter, the second adapter seal abuts the first adapter seal and moves the first adapter seal relative to the tip of the needle such that the tip of the needle penetrates through the abutting first adapter seal and second adapter seal.
Transfer device
Compositions and methods for separating a sample of whole blood or bone marrow aspirate into a fraction rich in at least one of platelets and pluripotent cells are provided. A sample of whole blood can be centrifuged in a collection tube comprising a separator substance formulated to settle between the PRP fraction and the at least one other fraction. Preferably, centrifugation is completed without substantial activation of platelets. Optionally, the separator substance could be hardened to form a solid barrier that allows removal of all or substantially all of the platelets in the PRP fraction without remixing of the PRP fraction with the at least one other fraction. Transfer devices and methods are also provided in which a sterile sample can be transferred from a separation/preparation container (e.g., vacutainer) to a consumer or other container (e.g., dropper) while maintaining sterility of the sample.
SHROUD DEVICE
The disclosed embodiments include a protective housing for a fragile article for containing fluid medicament. The protective housing includes a shroud top including an upper collar for absorbing one or more forces, a shroud base configured to receive the shroud top and including a lower collar for absorbing one or more forces, a spike configured to pierce the fragile article and coupled to the shroud top or the shroud base, and a connector located at the shroud top or the shroud base, the connector configured to provide the fluid medicament from the fragile article to an injector
DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE EFFECTIVE, RELIABLE AND FOOLPROOF DELIVERY OF CONTROLLED AMOUNTS OF A MEDICAL FLUID
A method for performing a medical procedure requiring effective, reliable and foolproof delivery of controlled amounts of a medical grade gas to a patient includes providing a compressed gas cylinder having a weight with medical grade gas sealed therein of at least twelve grams and not greater than fifty grams. The method also includes connecting the compressed gas cylinder to an integrated compressed gas unit including a regulator valve assembly positioned between an outlet port and an inlet port, wherein the regulator valve assembly includes a press button actuator and regulator adjustment dial. A flow control system is secured to the compressed gas unit and the medical grade gas is delivered in precisely controlled amounts by actuating the compressed gas unit and operating the flow control system to deliver the medical grade gas to vasculature of the patient.
VIAL ADAPTOR WITH VALVE
The invention relates to a vial adaptor. The vial adaptor comprises a syringe connection port. The syringe connection port is configured to be connected to a syringe. The vial adaptor further comprises a vial connection port. The vial connection port comprises a skirt and a spike. The spike has a lumen forming a fluid channel. The vial adaptor further comprises a conduit configured to provide fluid flow between the syringe connection port and the vial connection port. The vial adaptor further comprises a valve for selectively blocking and allowing fluid flow between the syringe and the conduit through the syringe connection port when the syringe is connected to the syringe connection port. This constitutes an improved solution for connecting a syringe and a vial.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR NEEDLELESS EXTRACTION AND ADMINISTRATION OF CONTENTS FROM VIALS
A cap assembly includes an access member including a first section and a second section. The first section includes a connection portion that is attachable to an extraction device that extracts contents of a reservoir. The connection portion includes a first opening. The second section includes a second opening in fluid communication with the contents of the reservoir when the access member is secured to the reservoir. The cap assembly includes a valve member insertable into the access member so as to be in fluid communication with the first opening and the second opening and such that the valve member i) seals the contents of the reservoir at the first opening when the connection portion is not attached the extraction device, and ii) provides access to the contents of the reservoir through the first opening when the connection portion is attached to the extraction device.
Systems and methods for mixing syringe valve assemblies
A syringe mixing system is provided for housing and mixing contents between at least two syringes. In some embodiments, a syringe coupler is provided that receives first and second syringes and includes a valve member that is convertible between a closed position and an open position. Retention systems for preventing or inhibiting removal of at least one syringe after use are also provided.
Fluid transfer devices and methods of use
Fluid transfer systems are disclosed that can be configured to transfer precise amounts of fluid from a source container to a target container. The fluid transfer system can have multiple fluid transfer stations for transferring fluids into multiple target containers or for combining different types of fluids into a single target container to form a mixture. The fluid transfer system can include a pump and a destination sensor, such as a weight sensor. The fluid transfer system can be configured to flush remaining fluid out of a connector to reduce waste, using air or a flushing fluid.

MEDICAL FLUID TRANSFER APPARATUS
A medical fluid transfer apparatus for transferring hazardous liquid medication in a fluid-tight manner. The apparatus includes a first connector portion having a first passage for fluid-tight connection to a medical syringe; a second connector portion having a second passage for fluid-tight connection to a medical liquid reservoir; a fluid channel extending between the first passage and the second passage, which permits a fluid-conducting transfer of the medication liquid between the syringe and the liquid reservoir; and an equalization container having an equalization volume, which is connected to the liquid reservoir in a fluid-conducting manner, and which is designed to receive a gas volume displaced during transfer of the medication liquid out of the liquid reservoir. The first passage and the second passage are connected to each other in a fluid-conducting manner via the equalization volume, which forms a fluid channel portion of the fluid channel.
