Devices and methods for needleless and needled extraction of contents from vials
A cap assembly includes an access member configured for attachment to a reservoir. The access member includes a first port that enables needleless extraction of contents from the reservoir, and at least one second port that enables needled extraction of the contents from the reservoir. The cap assembly further includes a valve member positioned in or configured to be positioned in the access member to i) enable needleless extraction of the contents of the reservoir through the first port when the first port is attached to a needless extraction device, ii) enable needled extraction of the contents through the at least one second port, and iii) seal the contents of the reservoir at the first port and at the at least one second port prior to and subsequent to the needleless or needled extraction.
INFUSION SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS THEREOF
Multi-medicament infusion systems prevent cross-channeling of medicaments. A system may include one or more of an infusion pump, medicament reservoirs, a multi-channel fluid conduit, and an infusion set. Medicament reservoirs and/or collars may be sized and shaped differently such that the medicament reservoirs can only be inserted into the system under selected configurations.
Drug Reconstitution System
A system including an adapter for sequential engagement with a cartridge containing a first substance and a vial containing a second substance is disclosed. The adapter is configured to first engage with the vial and subsequently engage with the cartridge such that the cartridge is in fluid communication with the vial via the adapter. The system includes a latch member engageable with a portion of the cartridge. A plunger rod includes a protrusion and is adapted to communicate with the latch member, the plunger rod being transitionable from a disengaged position, in which the protrusion of the plunger rod is disengaged from the latch member and the latch member is locked to the cartridge, to an engaged position, in which the protrusion is engaged with the latch member and the latch member is unlocked from the cartridge and locked to the plunger rod.
Connection system for medical device components
A connection system for connecting a first medical device component to a second medical device component is disclosed. The connection system of the present disclosure provides for quick and intuitive coupling and decoupling of two opposing medical device components through the use of a connection path and a disconnection path, the connection path being distinct from the disconnection path. Furthermore, the connection system of the present disclosure provides audible and tactile connection feedback through the use of elastically deformable connection elements.
COMPONENTS OF A FLUID TRANSFER APPARATUS
A syringe that is configured for use in a syringe pump. The syringe has a flange at the proximal end of a barrel and a sealing element at its proximal end. The sealing element has of a disk shaped annular sealing assembly having a hole in its center through which a piston rod passes. The sealing assembly has an upper part and a lower part that are pressed together to hold an O-ring that seals around the piston rod. The sealing assembly is placed inside the barrel of the syringe; thereby not disturbing the external shape of the syringe and allowing the syringe to fit into dedicated grooves on syringe pumps.
COMPONENTS OF A FLUID TRANSFER APPARATUS
A system having a syringe and a connector. A proximal end of an outer housing of the connector is a specially designed female Luer element. A distal end of an outer housing of the connector is configured to connect the syringe to a component of a fluid transfer apparatus. The syringe and the connector are configured to be joined together such that they can be swiveled relative to each other around their common longitudinal axis. Once connected together, any attempt to twist the syringe or connector relative to each other in either a counterclockwise direction or a clockwise direction will result in endless swiveling about their common longitudinal axis. In other words, once the system is connected together, the syringe cannot be disconnected from the connector.
Fluid Transfer Connector
A fluid transfer connector or adapter for coupling to a container or pharmacy bottle for facilitating the transfer of fluid or medicine from the bottle to a syringe, or from the syringe to the bottle. Optionally, an additional connector can be provided for coupling the fluid transfer connector to the syringe.
System and method for safety syringe
One embodiment is directed to a system for injecting, comprising a syringe body defining an interior medicine chamber; a stopper member configured to be inserted into the interior medicine chamber to contain medicine within the medicine chamber; a plunger member configured to be manually manipulated to insert the stopper member relative to the syringe body; and a needle having proximal and distal ends, the proximal end comprising an anchoring geometry configured to be at least partially inserted into the stopper member such that upon retraction of the stopper member, the needle is pulled proximally along with the stopper to be at least partially contained within the interior medicine chamber.
Device for connecting a vessel and a container and connection assembly including such a device
The device allows the connection between a vessel closed off by a perforable stopper and a container. It comprises a base, which is configured to be mounted on the vessel and which comprises a hollow member for perforating the stopper, this hollow member delimiting at least one opening, and a needle holder, which is waiting to be connected with the container, and which includes a needle, one of the ends of which emerges in the inner volume of the hollow member. The device further comprises a collar attached to a needle holder, and a sheath, which is connected around the collar and which defines a central axis along which it is movable against a resilient force exerted by a spring.
APPARATUS FOR SECURING DEVICE COUPLINGS
An apparatus for securing a male-female connection comprises: (a) a female connector comprising a securing actuator section; (b) a male connector; (c) one or more anchoring ledges; and (d) at least one rotatable gear.
