Medical vial holder apparatus and method
Embodiments of a medical vial holder apparatus and system are disclosed. A main body has a mount engagement portion and a vial engagement portion. A facing wall is attached to the vial engagement portion thereby defining a vial retention cavity therebetween. A lever element is mounted to the main body for pivotal movement between a grip position and a release position. The lever element has a grip portion with a vial engagement face. A grip distance is defined between the vial engagement face and the facing wall. Movement of the lever element from the release position toward the grip position reduces the grip distance. Movement of the lever element from the grip position toward the release position increases the grip distance. The lever element is biased toward the grip position. A plurality of the apparatuses are adjustably mountable in line with one another by way of their mount engagement portions.
Torque enhancer device for grasping and tooling, and assemblies and uses thereof
A torque enhancement device having one or more torque enhancement member(s) with each having an exterior (preferably bi-symmetric or essentially bi-symmetric) surface configuration with parallel, longer side walls extending in a Y-axis direction and shorter side walls extending in an X-axis direction and corner recesses positioned between ends of adjacent longer and shorter side walls, and with some embodiments of the invention featuring a torque enhancement device having a hole extending in a Z-axis direction. A fastener assembly is also provided that includes one or more torque enhancement devices as well as methods for utilization of the torque enhancement device or utilization or assemblage of an assembly including a torque enhancement device. The surface configuration includes arrangements where there is a torque differential in one direction or the other as well as arrangements that are adapted to handle both standard fastener configurations and torque enhancement configurations with a common torque enhancement device.
Drug solution preparation apparatus
A device holder (20) that holds a transfer device (800) is provided on a stage (10). The device (800) includes a first connector (810) to which a first container (910) is connectable, a second connector (820) to which a second container (950) is connectable, and a connection port (850) to which a syringe (980) is connectable. The stage (10) can be turned to a first turning position where the first connector (810) is located higher than the second connector (820) and a second turning position where the second connector (820) is located higher than the first connector (810). A second container holder (50) that holds the second container (950) coaxially with the second connector (820) turns together with the stage (10) and can be linearly moved along a direction of an axis of the second connector (820).
Syringe devices and methods for mixing and administering medication
The invention includes a device having a chamber within a syringe. A fluid passageway extends through a syringe piston. A valve is associated with the passageway controlling fluid passage through the piston. The invention includes a piercing structure having a head segment and a body portion, with a channel through the body portion and through at least one surface of the head without passing through the tip. In another aspect the invention encompasses a method of preparing an agent for administration to an individual. A first component is provided within a syringe and a second component is provided within a vial. A closed valve is associated with a fluid passageway between the vial and the syringe barrel through a piston. Valve repositioning allows fluid passage and sliding of the piston joins the first and second components. Repeated sliding of the piston mixes the components to produce the medication agent.
INSULIN STORAGE AND DISPENSING SYSTEM
An insulin storage and dispensing system for housing a standard insulin bottle and securely keeping the bottle in place when using a syringe to access the port on the top of the bottle to fill the syringe while providing accessibility in the form of a convenient mounting assembly for mounting on a refrigerator, an interior cabinet door or wall.
Syringe adapter
An exemplary syringe adapter for coupling with a syringe may include a housing. A needle-free connector may be disposed in the housing. A communication member may be in slidable engagement with the housing. The communication member may be slidable, with respect to the housing, between an unactuated state and an actuated state of the syringe adapter. A cannula may extend from the communication. In the unactuated state, the cannula may be retracted within the needle-free connector. In the actuated state, the cannula may protrude through and axially beyond the needle-free connector.
Method for Fluid Delivery
A fill adapter for filling a reservoir and a related method are disclosed herein. The fill adapter includes a button assembly actuator and a pump chamber plunger actuator hingeably attached to the button assembly actuator, wherein the actuation of the button assembly actuator actuates the pump chamber plunger actuator and wherein the pump chamber plunger actuator actuates a pump chamber membrane before the at least one button assembly is actuated.
MEDICATION DOSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of preparing liquid medication doses using an automated dosing device may include securing a vial within a vial holder. The vial includes a liquid medicament. An empty syringe is secured within a syringe holder with a plunger of the syringe being secured by a plunger gripper and a luer lock of the syringe within a luer lock gripper. The syringe holder and the vial holder are moved closer together to insert a needle of the syringe through a septum of the vial while longitudinal axes of the syringe and the vial are at a downward angle and while the vial holder is lower than the syringe holder. The syringe holder and the vial holder are rotated to vertically align the longitudinal axes with the vial holder above the syringe holder. The plunger gripper is pulled away from the luer lock gripper to transfer liquid medicament into the syringe.
SYSTEM FOR CLOSED TRANSFER OF FLUIDS
A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.
SYRINGE ASSEMBLY AND ADAPTER MEMBER
A syringe assembly (10) includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end (16), a needle hub (20) coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel. A guide member (30) extends from the needle hub (20) for sliding in an axial opening (76, 118, 132) of an adapter (32, 100, 130) connected to the container (36) or vial containing a medication substance, drug, or pharmaceutical. The guide member (30) has a shape and length for mating with the axial opening (76, 118, 132) in the adapter to guide the needle of the syringe in straight line through a septum (42) in the container where the syringe can be filed and aspirated. In one embodiment, the guide member (30) has a plurality of radially extending ribs (52) mating with complementing axial channels or grooves in the axial opening (76, 118, 132) of the adapter (32).
