Devices for transferring fluid to or from a vial
In certain embodiments, a vial adaptor for removing liquid contents from a vial comprises a piercing member and a bag. The bag can be contained within the piercing member such that the bag is introduced to the vial when the vial adaptor is coupled with the vial. In some embodiments, the bag expands within the vial as liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, thereby regulating pressure within the vial. In other embodiments, a vial comprises a bag for regulating pressure within the vial as liquid is removed therefrom. In some embodiments, a vial adaptor is coupled with the vial in order to remove the liquid. In some embodiments, as the liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, the bag expands within the vial, and in other embodiments, the bag contracts within the vial.
Connection System for Medical Device Components
A connection system for connecting a first medical device component to a second medical device component is disclosed. The connection system of the present disclosure provides for quick and intuitive coupling and decoupling of two opposing medical device components through the use of a connection path and a disconnection path, the connection path being distinct from the disconnection path. Furthermore, the connection system of the present disclosure provides audible and tactile connection feedback through the use of elastically deformable connection elements.
System and methods for treating cancer cells with alternating polarity magnetic fields
Systems and method for destroying or inhibiting cancer cells and other rapidly-dividing cells include coupling an alternating polarity (AP) magnetic field generator to a target body area and applying an AP magnetic field having a frequency of 0.5-500 kHz and a field strength of 0.5-5 mT to the target body area to achieve a desired inhibiting effect on cancer cells or other rapidly-dividing cells. Treatments provided by the system may be co-administered with an anti-cancer drug such as a chemotherapy drug, a hormone therapy drug, targeted therapy drugs, immunotherapy drugs, or an angiogenesis inhibitor drug.
Systems and methods for safe medicament transport
A medicament transport system includes a syringe adapter assembly; and a vial adapter assembly including a base defining an opening having a seal member disposed therewithin, a stem extending from the base and defining a lumen therethrough and an opening through a wall thereof, a needle shuttle valve slidably disposed within the lumen of the stem and supporting a transfer needle and a vacuum needle; and a vacuum cup slidably supported on the stem, wherein a vacuum chamber is defined in the space between the base, the stem and the vacuum cup. The medicament transport system includes a condition where the transfer needle and the vacuum needles penetrate the seal member of the vial adapter assembly, and the vacuum cup is moved to draw a vacuum through the vacuum needle. An automation system is provided that utilizes a medicament transport system for forming a medicament solution from a liquid/non-liquid solution.
Vial Adapter with Air Management Device
A vial adapter includes a body having a component connection interface and a vial connection interface, a pressure equalization assembly including an equalization housing, an expandable member, and a valve member, with the equalization housing and the expandable member defining a space configured to expand from a first volume to a second volume larger than the first volume, and a piercing member. The equalization housing defining an equalization opening in fluid communication with the space and an intake opening in fluid communication with the valve member, with the valve member configured to allow air into the space from the intake opening and prevent air from the space to exit the intake opening. The equalization housing defines a channel in fluid communication with the equalization opening and the valve member.
Safety drug handling device
A drug mixing system including at least one receptacle port adaptor adapted to be inserted into a port of a fluid receptacle, at least one syringe adaptor adapted to be attached to a syringe and to the at least one receptacle port adaptor and at least one vial adaptor adapted for connection to a vial containing a drug and adapted for connection to the at least one syringe adaptor, the system being characterized in that at least one of the receptacle port adaptor, the at least one syringe adaptor and the at least one vial adaptor being vented to the atmosphere in a manner which prevents release to the atmosphere of possibly harmful contents of the vial in a liquid, solid or gaseous form.
PRE-FILLED DILUENT SYRINGE VIAL ADAPTER
In some embodiments, an adapter comprises an adapter body comprising a coupling member configured for coupling with a pre-fillable assembly and a spike having at least one conduit extending from a central body. At least one conduit extends through the spike, adapter body and the coupling member. A spike cover is sized to receive and seal the spike, the cover reversibly securable to the central body and receiving members configured to receive a vial shroud.
Piercing part for a medical infusion system, drip chamber and infusion system
A piercing part for a medical infusion system includes a piercing mandrel through which at least one channel extends and which has a mandrel tip whose first jacket surface part is tapered, relative to a central longitudinal axis, towards a front end. An opposite second jacket surface part has an inclined cutting face interrupted towards the front end. The piercing part can be used for medical transfusion and infusion appliances.
Needleless syringe connector cap and container
A needleless syringe connector cap to be provided to a container having an aperture at its top, said cap comprising an elastically deformable plastic valve body. Said valve body comprises a first and second passage, each passage extending through the valve body. Both passages comprise a cross-slit valve in the extreme lower end of said passage, embodied as an aeration valve. The first passage is adapted to receive a first tapered syringe tip and the second passage is adapted to receive a second tapered syringe tip, wherein when fluid is withdrawn from a container to which the cap is provided through the first (second) passage using a first (second) tapered syringe tip to which said first (second) passage is adapted, the second (first) cross-slit valve opens in response to an under pressure in said container resulting from said withdrawal, so as to aerate said container.
