The device including a piercing member having a distal end and a proximal end and defining a longitudinal fluid channel. A first opening positioned at the distal end of the piercing member wherein the first opening is in fluid communication with the longitudinal fluid channel. A cover or flash positioned over the first opening. The cover including a pre-cut pattern wherein the cover opens along the pre-cut pattern upon application of a distally directed force from the longitudinal fluid channel. The distal end including the first opening having a steep taper to facilitate last drop extraction.
STERILE FLEXIBLE PACKAGE WITH PRESSURE COMPENSATOR FOR THE DOSED RECONSTITUTION OF FLUID MEDICINAL OR NUTRITIONAL SUBSTANCES TO BE ADMINISTERED TO PATIENTS BY INFUSION OR INJECTION
The package comprises a sterile bag (3) filled with liquid diluent, a bottle (9) equipped with a pierceable cap (26) to contain a medicinal or nutritional substance and a tube (12) extending from the bag and ending with a coupling and perforation device (16) for the cap of the bottle. Said bag is housed in a flexible sterile sealed casing (1), while the bottle and the coupling and perforation device are accommodated in a second flexible sterile sealed casing (2). The tube (12) has a portion (13) between the first and second casing, housing a flow diverter (18) adjustable from a first position in which it impedes any communication between the bottle and the bag, to a second position in which it allows the bag to be put in communication with a sealed side opening (19) for a syringe (22), or a third position in which it allows the bottle to be connected with said side opening. To another side opening (41) of the flow diverter a flexible tube (42) with hydrophobic filter (43) is attached, terminating into one and/or the other of said sterile sealed casings and serving as a pressure compensator.
TRANSFER DEVICE FOR USE WITH INFUSION LIQUID CONTAINER
Transfer devices with vial adapter and/or an infusion set for reducing overdosing/underdosing of an infusion bag are provided. The transfer device provides user- controlled fluid transferring between an infusion liquid container and a drug-containing container. In one aspect, the transfer device provides user-controlled venting that can be used during liquid transfer between the infusion liquid container and a drug-containing container.
Syringe adapter with aspiration assembly
A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the housing including a connector body positioned at the first end of the housing and configured to be secured to a syringe barrel, a cannula positioned within the housing, with the cannula defining a transfer opening and a valve opening, a seal arrangement positioned within the housing and movable within the housing, and an aspiration assembly comprising an aspiration housing defining an aspiration opening, a filter received by the aspiration housing, and one-way valve received by the aspiration housing, where the valve opening of the cannula is positioned within the aspiration housing, and where air is configured to flow into the filter via the aspiration opening, into the one-way valve, and into the valve opening of the cannula.
Piercing part for a medical infusion system
A piercing part for a medical infusion system includes a housing with a piercing mandrel, a fluid channel and a ventilation channel with a first channel portion extending at least substantially parallel to the fluid channel and with a second channel portion diverted towards an outside of the housing and to which an air filter element and a fluid shut-off member are assigned. A drip chamber can include a piercing part. The piercing part can be produced by an injection molding tool. The second channel portion in the housing is oriented parallel to the first channel portion and open towards an inside of the housing. An open region of the channel portion is closed by a separately produced closure part. The piercing part can be used with a medical infusion system.
LYOPHILISATE CONTAINER AND INFUSION KIT
A lyophilisate container (39) comprising a compartment; a wall (3119, 3129) limiting the compartment; and a lyophilisate arranged inside the compartment. At least a portion of the wall (3119, 3129) is semipermeable allowing vapour permeation in one direction out of the compartment through the wall (3119, 3129) and preventing vapour permeation in an opposite direction into the compartment through the wall (3119, 3129).
Safely drug handling device
A drug mixing system including at least one receptacle port adaptor adapted to be inserted into a port of a fluid receptacle, at least one syringe adaptor adapted to be attached to a syringe and to the at least one receptacle port adaptor and at least one vial adaptor adapted for connection to a vial containing a drug and adapted for connection to the at least one syringe adaptor, the system being characterized in that at least one of the receptacle port adaptor, the at least one syringe adaptor and the at least one vial adaptor being vented to the atmosphere in a manner which prevents release to the atmosphere of possibly harmful contents of the vial in a liquid, solid or gaseous form.
DEVICES FOR ACCESSING MEDICINAL FLUID FROM A CONTAINER
In certain embodiments, a vial adaptor for removing liquid contents from a vial comprises a piercing member and a bag. The bag can be contained within the piercing member such that the bag is introduced to the vial when the vial adaptor is coupled with the vial. In some embodiments, the bag expands within the vial as liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, thereby regulating pressure within the vial. In other embodiments, a vial comprises a bag for regulating pressure within the vial as liquid is removed therefrom. In some embodiments, a vial adaptor is coupled with the vial in order to remove the liquid. In some embodiments, as the liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, the bag expands within the vial, and in other embodiments, the bag contracts within the vial.
Access and vapor containment system for a drug vial and method of making and using same
A safety vial system has a vial adapter subsystem irreversibly mountable to the top of a vial containing a hazardous medicament and a vial base subsystem sealingly engaging a lower portion of the vial adapter subsystem and telescopically movable therein from a first position providing a path for gas sterilization around the vial to a second position wherein the path is closed to form a sterilized expandable, neutral pressure bellows chamber around and below the vial. The device has a removable top cap, a pierceable barrier film, a normally closed needleless valve in fluid communication with a dual lumen spike initially disposed above the film and a frangible product integrity ring holding the activation housing in place for sealed telescopic movement on a main body that surrounds the vial. The user pulls the product integrity ring and removes it, and then pushes the activation housing axially downward until it clicks to lock the device in the activated position wherein both lumens of the spike are in communication with the inside of the vial. The user removes the top cap on the activation housing assembly, and then uses a needleless syringe with an adapter thereon to add diluent and mixes if needed and withdraw drug from the vial via the valve.
