20210137789 · 2021-05-13 ·

A connection system for connecting a first medical device component to a second medical device component is disclosed. The connection system of the present disclosure provides for quick and intuitive coupling and decoupling of two opposing medical device components through the use of a connection path and a disconnection path, the connection path being distinct from the disconnection path. Furthermore, the connection system of the present disclosure provides audible and tactile connection feedback through the use of elastically deformable connection elements.

Fluid transfer devices and methods of use

Some embodiments disclosed herein related to a device for transferring precise amounts of fluid from at least one source container to at least one target container. In some embodiments, the fluid is first transferred from the source container (e.g., a vial) through a connector to an intermediate measuring container (e.g., a syringe). In some embodiments air can pass through an air inlet and enter the vial to compensate for the volume of fluid withdrawn from the vial. An air check valve or a bag or a filter can prevent the fluid from escaping through the air inlet. The precisely measured amount of fluid can then be transferred from the intermediate measuring container to the target container (e.g., an IV bag). In some embodiments the connector can include a source check valve and a target check valve to direct fluid first from the source container to the intermediate measuring container and then from the intermediate measuring container to the target container. Some embodiments of the device can include a motor and a controller for automatically actuating a plunger of the syringe to transfer the desired amount of fluid.

In certain embodiments, a vial adaptor comprises a housing configured to couple the adaptor with a vial, an access channel, a regulator channel, and a regulator assembly. The access channel is configured to facilitate withdrawal of fluid from the vial when the adaptor is coupled to the vial. The regulator channel is configured to facilitate a flow of a regulating fluid from the regulator assembly to compensate for changes in volume of a medical fluid in the vial. In some embodiments, the regulator assembly includes a flexible member configured to expand and contract in accordance with changes in the volume of the medical fluid in the vial. In some embodiments, the flexible member is substantially free to expand and contract. In some embodiments, the flexible member is not partly or completely located in a rigid enclosure.

Adaptor for coupling to a medical container

An adaptor for coupling with a medical container, including: a tubular body receiving a pierceable elastomeric piece, defining an inner cavity of the adaptor, the pierceable elastomeric piece being movable within the tubular body between a first position, in which a distal part of the pierceable elastomeric piece forms a seal of the cavity, and a second position, proximally spaced from the first position, in which the distal part opens the seal of the cavity, an air inlet, a filtering system for filling the inner cavity with decontaminated air, and a gripping member for securing the adaptor to the medical container. Also, an assembly comprising such an adaptor and a medical container.

According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, an adaptor configured to couple with a sealed vial can include a connector interface. The adaptor can include one or more access channels (e.g., passages). In some cases the one or more access channels are in fluid communication with the connector interface. The adaptor can include a piercing member. The piercing member can include a regulator channel. The adaptor can include a regulator assembly. The regulator assembly can include a first regulator inlet. In some cases, the regulator includes a second regulator inlet. One or more of the first and second regulator inlets can include a filter configured to filter fluid passing into and/or out of the respective regulator inlets. One or more valves can be positioned between the first and/or second regulator inlets and the piercing member.

Syringe fill adapter

A fill adapter for delivery of a medical liquid to a container has a body with a distal end, a proximal end, and a central bore extending between the distal end and the proximal end along a longitudinal axis. The central bore has an angled portion at the proximal end of the body such that a diameter of the central portion increases at the angled portion in a direction from the distal end to the proximal end. The fill adapter further has a flow controller disposed within the central bore at a distal end of the angled portion such that a gap is formed between an outer surface of the flow controller and an inner surface of the central bore. The flow controller is shaped to direct liquid flowing through the central bore to flow through the gap and along the angled portion of the central bore under a Coandă effect.

System and method for anti-foaming needle assembly

Provided is a system and method for an anti-foaming needle assembly for avoiding foam generation when extracting a liquid from a vessel having a chamber with a bottom and opposite thereto an opening sealed with a penetrable and re-sealable stopper providing an inner surface above the chamber. More specifically, the anti-foaming needle assembly includes a needle base having: a first end and opposite thereto a second end and a sidewall there between, the second end structured and arranged for temporary connection to a syringe having a barrel and a plunger; a first needle having a hollow shaft and a first length extending from the first end to provide an open distal end above the first end, the first needle having a second end vented through the sidewall; and a second needle having a hollow shaft and a second length extending from the first end generally parallel to the first needle to provide, when inverted, a distal end above the first end and below the distal end of the first needle, the second needle having a second end in fluid communication with the second end of the needle base. An associated method of use is also provided.
