JEJUNAL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION
20180098917 · 2018-04-12 ·

A jejunal system and apparatus are disclosed. The jejunal system includes a sheath having a proximal end and a distal end. A plurality of lumens extend through the sheath between the proximal end and the distal end. A first lumen of the plurality of lumens is provided with a first aperture set and a second aperture set. The first aperture set is in fluid communication with the second aperture set via the first lumen. The jejunal system is dimensioned and configured such that, when the system is inserted into a human body, the first aperture set is located in a small intestine of the human body, and the second aperture set is located in a stomach of the human body.

Polyurethane bonding skeleton for feeding tube device

A feeding tube port for use in connection with an enteral feeding system is provided. The feeding tube port includes an inner core made of a first material and an over-layer made of a second material. The over-layer at least partially encloses the inner core, such that the inner core is configured to resist separation from the over-layer. In some aspects, the inner core may be formed from a rigid plastic material and the over-layer may be formed from a pliable material. The inner core may include one or more ribs, slots and/or apertures configured to enhance adherence between the inner core first material and the over-layer second material. The inner core may further include one or more contact points configured for attachment of a feeding tube valve other similar component to the feeding tube port.

Feeding tube tip reinforcement

A feeding tube assembly having an improved feeding tube body composed of a tube wall having an external tube surface and an internal tube surface, a proximal end, a distal end separated from the proximal end by a length, and a distal tip region. The internal tube surface defines a feeding passageway extending the proximal end to the distal tip region. The tube body has a first cross-sectional profile from the proximal end to the distal end and at least a second cross-sectional profile from the distal end to the distal tip region. In the first cross-sectional profile, the external tube surface defines an external circumference and the internal tube surface defines a generally non-circular internal perimeter dividing the tube wall into one thin-walled portions and thick-walled portions. In the second cross-section profile, the external tube surface defines an external circumference and the internal tube surface defines an internal circumference.

A gastrojejunostomy tube is used when a patient's stomach must be bypassed, with nutrients and/or medication being delivered directly to the jejunum. In this situation, the stomach commonly fills with stomach acid and digestive enzymes, which may cause vomiting, acid reflux or other esophageal problems. The gastrojejunostomy drainage bag is provided to allow the contents of the stomach to be drained through the gastrojejunostomy tube, rather than building up within the patient's stomach. The gastrojejunostomy drainage bag includes a receptacle having a lower portion and an upper stem portion, the upper stem portion terminating in a port adapted for connection to the gastrojejunostomy tube. Preferably, a lower port is formed through the lower portion, allowing the contents of the gastrojejunostomy drainage bag to be selectively emptied. A method of releasing gas or trapped air from the stomach is also disclosed.

Dilation Device for Placing Catheter Tubes

A stoma dilation device that includes a tubular support defining a continuous pathway through the device; an inflatable dilation balloon located on the tubular support, the inflatable dilation balloon including a dilation region forming a first portion of the device and a retention region forming a second portion of the device; and a balloon inflation lumen. The retention region of the balloon is configured to have a diameter upon full, unrestrained inflation that is greater than the diameter of the dilation region.

FEEDING TUBE

The invention relates to a feeding tube, comprising a shaft (2) which adjoins a tube head (1) and has at least two channels (3, 4), namely a food channel (3) and a fluid channel (4), said shaft carrying at its end a balloon (5) which is connected to the fluid channel (4) and is penetrated by the food channel (3), wherein the tube head (1) comprises supply connections (6, 7) for the channels (3, 4). with the supply connections being fitted with valves (8, 9). In order to provide advantageous constructive conditions, it is proposed that the tube head (1), which forms a tube part that is separate from the shaft (2) forms a plug-in coupling for the shaft (2), which shaft can be cut to length, for connecting the channels (3, 4) to the associated supply connections (6, 7).

Gastrojejunal tube apparatus and methods of use

Gastrojejunal (GJ) tube apparatuses and methods for using the same where the GJ tube apparatuses having a plurality of tubes forming lumens within the apparatus and including a guidance tube having a closed end which is exposed by cutting off a portion of the GJ tube apparatus and which allows for insertion of a guide wire therethrough to assist in the placement of a new GJ tube such as when the existing tube becomes clogged or blocked.
