A hair cosmetic containing (A) a specified quaternary ammonium salt, (B) a dimethylpolysiloxane having a weight average molecular weight of 300 or more and 3,000 or less, and water, the hair cosmetic being used by applying on the hair and then rinsing away, wherein the content of the component (B) is 0.5 mass % or more and 60 mass % or less, and a receding contact angle (θ.sub.R) of water droplet as measured by the expansion-contraction method with respect to the surface of a polyethylene plate which is applied with the hair cosmetic and then subjected to water washing is 82° or more and 110° or less. A treatment method of hair including (I) applying the hair cosmetic on the hair and spreading it over the entire hair, and (II) rinsing away the hair cosmetic with water from the entire hair.

A hair treatment compositions including about 20 wt. % or more of a polyol; about 5 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a monoalcohol having 1 to 10 carbons; about 0.1 to about 5 wt. % of silicone; about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of a cationic polymer; about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of a cationic surfactant; about 0.1 to about 15 wt. % of a fatty alcohol; and about 10 wt. % or less of water, wherein all percentages by weight are based on the total weight of the hair treatment composition.

The present invention provides a photosensitising composition comprising a mixture of: at least one surfactant; at least one alcohol; and/or water, with the proviso that when the at least one surfactant is an alcohol, it is different from the at least one alcohol. Present disclosure relates to a solvent-free method of encapsulating a hydrophobic active in personal care, hydrophobic active in crop protection or a hydrophobic active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in polymeric nanoparticles. The method includes mixing the hydrophobic active in a polymer melt, wherein the polymer melt comprises a melt of a block co-polymer, wherein the polymer melt acts as a solvent for the hydrophobic active. The method further includes maintaining the polymer melt in water for sufficient time to allow self-assembly of the block co-polymer to encapsulate the hydrophobic active therein.

The present invention relates generally to compositions and methods of using the same such as, for example, methods of treating the skin of a subject using a composition as described herein.
