Solid cleansing compositions and methods for the same are disclosed herein. The solid cleansing composition may include a soap and a plant oil. The plant oil may include flaxseed oil, and may be present in an amount effective to maintain or increase hydration of skin, inhibit inflammation of skin, deodorize skin, inhibit irritation of skin, or combinations thereof.

A soothing lip balm composition includes a wax binder component, which includes at least two compounds selected from a C.sub.8-C.sub.30 fatty acid, esterified C.sub.8-C.sub.30 fatty acid, and C.sub.8-C.sub.30 fatty alcohols; a complex fat component, which includes at least three different compounds selected from C.sub.8-C.sub.30 fatty acids; an organic compound component, which includes at least three compounds selected from 2,5-dimethoxy-p-cymene, cumene, thymol methyl ether, 2,6-diisopropylanisole, decanal, and 1,2,2,3-tetramethylcyclopent-3-enol; and an enzymatic component, which includes cysteine endopeptidase.

A cosmetic cleansing composition, which is solid at about 25° C., is disclosed. The cosmetic cleansing composition includes up to about 90% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of alkali metal salts of fatty acids (soaps), from about 1 to about 40% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of amino acid surfactant(s), and from about 0.05 to about 10% by weight, based on a total weight of the cosmetic cleansing composition, of citric acid ester and/or salt(s) of citric acid.
