A substantially anhydrous, concentrated surfactant composition comprising a sugar-based surfactant; an amino acid based surfactant; a polyglycerol ester a polyhydroxy ether, or a combination of a polyglycerol ester a polyhydroxy ether; and, optionally, a glycol, wherein the substantially anhydrous surfactant composition contains less than about 12 weight percent of water.

The invention relates to a method for the preparation of estolide esters from a hydroxycarboxylic acid by a reaction of addition of a fatty acid to the hydroxyl function and by a reaction of esterification of the carboxylic acid function with an alcohol. The invention further relates to the use of estolide esters as a base oil in a lubricating composition or as an emollient in a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition.

The disclosure relates to compositions comprising (a) at least one polyphenol; (b) at least one nonionic polymer; (c) at least one cationic surfactant; (d) at least one emulsifier; and (e) at least one solvent. The present invention generally relates to the field of skin care. More particularly, the invention relates to a cosmetic or therapeutic skin care composition comprising live bacteria of at least one Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) strain in combination with an excipient that specifically supports their viability during storage and/or their ability to replicate after application to the skin. Preferably, the cosmetic or therapeutic skin care composition comprises bacteria of at least one C. acnes strain selected from the group consisting of D1, A5, C1, C3, H1, H2, H3, K1, K2, K4, K6, K8, K9, L1, and F4. The invention also provides a method for treating or preventing acne by applying the skin care composition of the invention to a skin area in need of treatment. The invention also relates to the use of a skin care composition of the invention for treating or preventing acne.

An object of the present invention is to provide a lip stick which can produce the excellent usability and plumps up lips while appropriately suppressing the gloss of lips in makeup finish upon application. The lip cosmetic is characterized by including: (A) 12 to 35 mass % of a powder composition except for a color pigment, the powder composition including one or two or more selected from a silicone powder, a urethane powder, and a nylon powder in an amount of 40 mass % or more; and (B) 50 to 68 mass % of a fluid oil content having a viscosity of 15 to 100 mPa.Math.s, the fluid oil content including an oil content having a viscosity of 15 to 100 mPa.Math.s in an amount of 44 mass % or more.

The present disclosure relates to a curable nail strengthening composition comprising a polymerizable material, at least one penetrating agent, and at least one curing agent. The strengthening composition penetrates the nail and is cured within the nail plate without cross-linking the nail proteins. Methods for strengthening and repairing nails are also disclosed.

A method of treating a person's skin is disclosed. The method can include topically applying to the skin a composition comprising jojoba oil and an oil extract of Opuntia ficus-indica tuna or Opuntia ficus-indica nopales, or a combination thereof, to treat the person's skin.
