METHODS FOR TREATING HAIR
The present disclosure relates to kits and methods, which are particularly useful for repairing, strengthening, and protecting hair from damage. The kits and methods employ one or more booster compositions, which can be added to a separate hair-treatment composition for application to the hair, or can be applied individually to the hair in a sequence with a separate hair-treatment composition. The booster compositions include: at least 0.5 wt. % of at least one amino acid or amino sulfonic acid, and/or a salt thereof; at least 0.5 wt. % of at least one non-polymeric mono, di, or tricarboxylic acid, and/or a salt thereof; and water. Hair treated with the kits and methods exhibit desirable cosmetic properties such as smoothness, gloss, improved combability, and enhanced strength and elasticity.
Methods for fixing hair and skin
Compositions, kits, and methods for repairing bonds, for example, disulfide bonds, in hair or on the skin are disclosed. The compositions provide improved conditioning benefit for dry hair or moisturize the skin. The compositions also provide a long lasting moisturized feel and smooth feel to the skin or hair, without feeling greasy. The compositions contain one or more compounds that covalently bind at least two thiol groups in the hair or on the skin. Use of the binding compositions prevents reversion of the repaired bonds to their free thiol state, for at least one week or one month, or more, after a single application of the composition. Improved methods of styling hair, for example permanent hair waving, hair curling, hair coloring or highlighting, and hair straightening, are also provided.
Tyrosinase activity inhibitor and external preparation for skin
A tyrosinase activity inhibitor is prepared by combining (A) a metal (zinc, cobalt or iron) chelate compound of -lipoyl amino acid or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt with (B-1) a human manganese SOD or (B-2) an ascorbic acid compound such as ascorbic acid and ascorbyl glucoside. A ratio (R1) of the (B-1) component content to the (A) component content is preferably 0.001 to 1,500, when R1 is defined as R1=[Unit concentration of (B-1) component (unit/mL)/Concentration of (A) component (g/mL)], and a ratio (R2) of the (A) component content to the (B-2) component content is preferably 0.0001 to 1,000, when R2 is defined as R2=[Concentration of (A) component (m/mL)/Concentration of (B-1) component (mg/mL)]. An external preparation for skin contains the (A) component and the (B-1) component or the (B-2) component as effective ingredients for inhibiting tyrosinase activity.

Compositions for treating skin
A personal care composition comprising: at least a first phase and a second phase wherein said first phase comprises a) an aqueous structured surfactant phase comprising STnS where n is between about 0 and about 2.5; b); c) a structuring system comprising i. optionally, a non-ionic emulsifier; ii. optionally, from about 0.05% to about 5%, by weight of said personal care composition, of an associative polymer; iii. an electrolyte; and said second phase comprises a) a benefit phase comprising from 1% to about 50%, by weight of said personal care composition, of a hydrophobic benefit agent.
