Personal Care Compositions
Personal care compositions and methods of use are disclosed herein. A personal care composition is provided comprising: a skin protection system comprising: an amino acid complex; and optionally one or more antioxidants; a penetration enhancer; and a cosmetically acceptable carrier.
PROCESS FOR DYEING OR BLEACHING KERATIN FIBERS USING PARTICULAR AMINO ACIDS IN HIGH CONCENTRATION
The present invention relates to a process for dyeing or bleaching keratin fibers, comprising the application to the keratin fibers of a composition comprising a high content of one or more particular amino acids followed by the application of a dyeing or bleaching composition.
Liquid hand soaps and body washes
The disclosure provides a liquid hand soap or body wash, comprising (i) a surfactant system comprising C.sub.8-18 alkyl-ether sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB), and N-(2 hydroxyethyl) fatty acid amide; (ii) a polyethylene oxide-polypropylene oxide block copolymer; and (iii) one or more polyalkoxylated mono- or di-fatty acid esters or amides, the composition allowing reduced surfactant levels, while still having good rheological properties.
PLATELET LYSATE GEL
The invention concerns a pharmaceutical composition comprising a platelet lysate and its use to treat a wound, an anal fissure, vaginal atrophy or a wrinkle.
METHODS FOR TREATING HAIR
The present disclosure relates to methods for treating hair, which are particularly useful for repairing, strengthening, and protecting hair from damage. The methods include applying to the hair each of the following components, together, separately, or in any combination thereof, in one or more hair-treatment compositions: (a) at least one amino acid or amino sulfonic acid, and/or a salt thereof, which is present in at least one of the one or more hair-treatment compositions in an amount of at least 0.5 wt. %; (b) at least one non-polymeric mono, di, or tricarboxylic acid, and/or a salt thereof, which is present in at least one of the one or more hair-treatment compositions in an amount of at least 0.5 wt. %; and (c) at least one non-taurate surfactant, which is present in at least one of the one or more hair-treatment compositions.
Hair treated with the methods exhibit desirable cosmetic properties such as smoothness, gloss, improved combability, and improved strength and elasticity.
Personal care compositions with glutathione precursor comprising 4-substituted resorcinols and amino acids
Topical personal care compositions containing amino acids and 4-substituted resorcinols for potentiating glutathione synthesis within skin cells. The compositions can be used to improve skin appearance of chronological aging or photoaging, resulting from exposure to UV light/sunlight, or environmental pollutants. The compositions are also useful for attaining even skin color and reducing pigmentation, age spots and discoloration.
Combination comprising N-acetyl-L-cysteine and its use
A combination of N-acetyl-L-cysteine, selenium in the form of selenomethionine and melatonin, and a medical product or pharmaceutical composition comprising such combination, useful for the treatment of a variety of diseases and conditions is described. The combination of N-acetyl-L-cysteine, selenium in the form of selenomethionine and melatonin is also useful for cosmetic treatment of skin and as an antibacterial agent.
Personal care compositions with cystine
Personal care topical compositions at skin-tolerant pH with cystine which is solubilized or has small crystal size below 20 microns. A process of making the composition is also described.
Moldable gel cleanser
A moldable gel cleanser comprising a carrageenan, a source of potassium and a glycol is disclosed.
A METHOD FOR SIDE EFFECT REDUCTION IN THE USE OF STATINS VIA PHYSIOLOGICALLY SYNTHESIZED GLUTATHIONE
Embodiments of the present invention relate generally the use of certain compositions, e.g., compositions comprising a glutathione precursor and a selenium source, in the therapy of subjects suffering from diseases associated with hyperiipidemia and/or hypercholesterolemia. Related embodiments of the present invention relate to treatment and/or reducing the incidence of the side effects of statin therapy comprising administering to a subject in need, a composition comprising a glutathione precursor and a selenium source. Embodiments of the invention also relate to the use of the compositions in combination therapy with other agents such as statins, cholesterol absorption inhibitors, bile acid binding resins, or fibrates. In other embodiments, the invention relates to the use of such compositions comprising the glutathione precursor and the selenium source in the therapy of subjects suffering from erectile dysfunction and/or viral diseases such as Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF).
