Conditioning hair treatment product with washout protection
Hair treatment products comprising, in relation to its weight, from about 0.001 to about 20% by weight of at least one alpha-substituted aldehyde and from about 0.001 to about 50% by weight of at least one amino-functional silicon, which lead to improved structural reinforcement of keratin fibers and improved hair care, and which reduce or prevent color washout in dyed hair.
CARBON DIOXIDE SHAMPOO APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention comprises a method of making and/or using a shampoo, comprising the steps of: placing shampoo into a container; combining a carbon dioxide precursor with the shampoo; sealing the container to yield a sealed container; and forming carbon dioxide inside the sealed container from the carbon dioxide precursor, the carbon dioxide formed in the sealed container comprising a concentration of greater than one thousand parts per million. Optionally and preferably, the sealed container includes a finger operated valve to release the shampoo from the container and at least one of a carbonic acid, a bicarbonate, and/or a carbonate as the carbon dioxide precursor, where a reaction forms at least one-half of dissolved carbon dioxide in the sealed container.
CARBON DIOXIDE SHAMPOO APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention comprises a shampoo apparatus and method of use thereof, comprising: putting a shampoo and carbon dioxide into a container, at least a portion of the carbon dioxide comprising at least one of a solid form and a liquid form; sealing the container; warming the carbon dioxide by at least fifty degrees Fahrenheit to form a carbon dioxide gas, the carbon dioxide gas at least partially dissolved in the shampoo, the carbon dioxide gas comprising a concentration of one-half to ten percent of the shampoo by mass; and pressurizing the container to a pressure exceeding sixty pounds per square inch, such as where a headspace forms in the container, the headspace comprising the carbon dioxide at a concentration greater than one thousand parts per million, where the pressurized carbon dioxide yields a propulsive force, a foam expansion function, and a cleaning function.
Personal care compositions with glutathione precursor comprising 4-substituted resorcinols and amino acids
Topical personal care compositions containing amino acids and 4-substituted resorcinols for potentiating glutathione synthesis within skin cells. The compositions can be used to improve skin appearance of chronological aging or photoaging, resulting from exposure to UV light/sunlight, or environmental pollutants. The compositions are also useful for attaining even skin color and reducing pigmentation, age spots and discoloration.
Personal Care Compositions
Personal care compositions and methods for increasing the production of natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) and increasing the production of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in skin are provided. The personal care compositions may include a carrier, one or more plant oils, and one or more salts of pyrrolidone carboxylate. The one or more plant oils and the one or more salts of pyrrolidone carboxylate are each present in an effective amount to increase NMFs and AMPs in skin when applied to the skin.
SKIN CARE PRODUCT WITH PROTEIN MATRIX
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for formulating a skin care product to mitigate aging or to restore damaged skin. One skin care product includes a blend of growth factors, peptides, and amino acids. Also disclosed is a skin care product formed from a synthesized protein matrix. The synthesized protein matrix can mimic the regenerative effects of human placental proteins, which are desirable when applied to skin because, as skin loses its regenerative properties, humans shows signs of aging, and a decrease in healing capabilities. The exemplary skin-care products disclosed herein can be applied to skin to help mitigate this skin aging process or to restore damaged skin.
METHOD TO PREVENT AND TREAT ALOPECIA BY CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKERS, ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYME INHIBITORS, AND ANGIOTENSIN RECEPTOR BLOCKERS
A method is provided to prevent and to treat alopecia by using Calcium Channel Blockers (CCB), Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors, or Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARB), and more particularly, to a method to prevent and treat alopecia by using Calcium Channel Blockers, Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors, or Angiotensin Receptor Blockers that are not taken orally, but administered through the skin into the scalp space to form contact with the scalp skin where hair loss is present to treat and to heal hair loss.
COMPOSITIONS AND TREATMENTS FOR KERATINOUS MATERIALS PROVIDING DAMAGE PROTECTION AND SENSORIAL BENEFITS
The present invention relates to a cosmetic treatment and processes for treating keratinous materials, in particular for altering the color of hair as in hair coloration, hair color lightening or removal, and treatment of artificially colored hair, wherein the composition can include at least one antioxidant, applied separately or combined or combinable with one or more components of a color altering system in amounts sufficient to confer protection when the treatment composition is applied to keratinous material and thereby enhance and protect one or more sensorial features, and preserve the mechanical properties and native amino acid structure of the keratinous material.
SHINE ENHANCING SPRAY COMPOSITION
Methods improving hold, setting and shine of hair are provided. The methods include applying a substantially anhydrous composition onto dry hair, wherein the substantially anhydrous composition has at least one cosmetically acceptable substantially anhydrous medium, one or more hair setting film forming polymers, and one or more pyrrolidone carboxylic acid esters according to general structure
##STR00001##
wherein R.sub.1 is a straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain with 1 to 22 carbon atoms, phenyl, phenyl alkyl with alkyl chain length of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl alkoxy group with alkyl chain length of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and phenoxy alkyl group with alkyl chain length of 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed is a method for moisturizing skin in need thereof, the method comprising topically applying to the skin a composition that includes effective amounts of an extract from Echinacea purpurea, an extract from Silybum marianum, and glycerin, wherein topical application of the composition activates human cannabinoid receptor type 2 and inhibits fatty acid amide hydrolase activity in the skin and treats the skin.
