LIGHT AUGMENTED TREATMENT METHOD
The present invention is directed to a method of treating skin and scalp comprising applying on the scalp or skin a composition comprising a scalp care active selected from the group consisting of 2-Pyridinol-N-oxide, a pyrithione or a polyvalent metal salt of pyrithione, one or more iron chelator having an A log P value of greater than or equal to 0.4 and mixtures therein; exposing the scalp and skin to electromagnetic radiation having wavelength from about 350 nm to about 500 nm and power from about about 0.1 mWatts/cm.sup.2 to about 1000 mWatts/cm.sup.2 and for a time period from about 2 seconds to about 5 minutes; wherein the antimicrobial treatment results in reduction of fungal growth as measured by the Fungal Growth Sensitivity Test of at least 50% compared to the dark sample.
AN ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION
This invention relates to an antimicrobial composition more particularly a personal care or cleansing composition for care or cleansing of hair or body. It more particularly relates to combination of crystal habit modified zinc oxide with zinc pyrithione that interact to provide synergistic antimicrobial efficacy for anti-dandruff benefits.
AN ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION
Disclosed is an antimicrobial composition comprising a polyvalent metal pyrithione and a complex of a polyvalent metal with pyridine amide. The composition may be used for personal cleansing and is especially preferred to be delivered as a shampoo or hair conditioner.
HAIR CARE COMPOSITION
A hair care composition is disclosed comprising a cationically modified guar polymer having a cationic degree of substitution of from 0.35 to 0.70, an ethoxylated alkyl sulfate anionic surfactant having a formula RO(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.nSO.sub.3M, wherein R is an alkyl or alkenyl group having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms; M is a solubilising cation comprising sodium, potassium, 5 ammonium, substituted ammonium or mixtures thereof; n is the degree of ethoxylation of from 0.5 to 3 and from 0.01 to 10% by weight of an anti-dandruff agent selected from azole based anti-fungal agents, piroctone olamine, metal pyrithione salts, selenium sulfide or mixtures thereof; wherein the degree of substitution is measured using .sup.1H NMR and the spectrum is recorded at 25 C.
FLUORESCENT DIRECT DYE BEARING AN ALIPHATIC CHAIN AND A DISULFIDE/THIOL/PROTECTED-THIOL FUNCTION FOR DYEING KERATIN MATERIALS
The invention relates to a process for dyeing and/or lightening keratin materials, in particular keratin fibres, preferably human keratin fibres such as the hair, using at least one fluorescent direct dye bearing a disulfide, thiol or protected-thiol function and comprising at least one aliphatic chain of formula (I). The invention also relates to the use i) of at least one fluorescent direct dye bearing a disulfide, thiol or protected-thiol function (I) combined with ii) steam and/or a heating iron for straightening keratin fibres, for dyeing and lightening keratin materials, and to novel fluorescent direct dyes bearing a disulfide, thiol or protected-thiol function of formula (I), and also a cosmetic composition comprising same.
