Described herein is a hair-loss prevention kit comprising a hair-loss composition comprising caffeine; and a brush comprising a body having a first major surface opposite a second major surface and a plurality of bristles extending from the second major surface of the body.

Compositions and methods are disclosed herein for inducing (up-regulating) the expression of sulfotransferases in the hair follicles, e.g., the scalp. Increasing sulfotransferase is beneficial for metabolizing pro-drugs that require sulfonation to be activated, e.g., minoxidil sulfate is the active metabolite of minoxidil. A method for combining the compositions described herein with topical minoxidil to enhance minoxidil treatment for androgenetic alopecia is described. Additional methods and compositions include the use of retinoid X receptor agonists, retinoic acid receptor agonists, and nuclear receptor agonists in an RXR—NR heterodimer. Additional methods and compositions include the use of a topical solution containing an alkalinizing agent or an alkalinizing agent used with a penetration enhancer for up-regulating the sulfonating capacity of hair bearing skin, hair follicles, and/or keratinocyte cells. The present invention relates to a personal care composition at least comprising a biosurfactant and a hydrophilic cationic or pseudo-cationic active compound. The present invention also relates to a method of enhancing or facilitating a deposition of hydrophilic cationic or pseudo-cationic active compound onto keratinous materials, such as hair or skin.

The present specification describes an additive composition for preventing the precipitation of vitamin C in a cosmetic composition containing 15 wt % or more of vitamin C. The additive composition of the present invention comprises one or more of 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid and caffeine as an active ingredient, and can thereby prevent precipitation of vitamin C even when a cosmetic composition is in cold storage. In addition, the additive composition according to the present invention can ameliorate the tingling irritation and stickiness that results from the inclusion of a high content of vitamin C.

The present invention relates to a composition for preventing hair loss and, more specifically, to a compound having a structure in which Minoxidil and a peptide are chemically connected, and to a pharmaceutical composition or cosmetic composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth comprising the compound.
