The present invention relates to a cosmetic skin lightening composition comprising the combination of sclareolide, kojic acid and ascorbyl glucoside, wherein kojic acid is encapsulated within a targeted microcapsule or nanocapsule having a melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) agonist peptide bound to the surface. It was found that such combination of active substances provided synergistic kin-whitening effect. The present invention also relates to the cosmetic use of this composition for skin whitening, particularly, for the elimination or reduction of hyperpigmented marks of the skin, such as UV exposure related marks, post-scar marks, post-inflammation marks, melasma marks, lentigo marks or age-related marks.

The invention relates to a personal care product for alleviating skin dryness, including facial skin dryness, body dryness, and breast skin dryness and for use as a massage oil. Embodiments of the personal care product include a formulation including cocoa butter, kokum butter, shea olein, and hyaluronic acid and/or cannabis oil. The personal care product may also include other plant-based glycerides, natural hormones, herbal roots and oils, amino acids, dietary supplements. The personal care product is substantially free of added water, alcohol, synthetic chemical, anti-microbial, and synthetic hormone.

A composition contains quercetagetin and 6-hydroxykaempferol, and, optionally further includes patuletin. The composition has an excellent antioxidant effect, and can be used as an active additive in food, drugs, health care products, cosmetics, and feed. The subject of the present disclosure is a process for dyeing keratinous material, in particular human hair. The process includes applying a first composition (A) to the keratinous material. The first composition includes (A1) one or more organic C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkoxysilanes and/or condensation products thereof, and (A2) at least one colorant compound selected from the group of pigments and direct dyes. A second composition (B) is applied to the keratinous material. The second composition (B) includes (B1) Tannic acid.

The preparation method uses 3,5-dihydroxytoluene as a raw material, and synthesis of chromones substituted with different groups at 2-C through acylation, esterification, rearrangement and cyclization reactions, etc. The 5-methylchromone is a completely new compound in condition that R1 is —CH.sub.2CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, and R2 is —CH.sub.2CH.sub.3, or that R1 is —C(CH.sub.3).sub.3, and R2 is H. All the compounds have obvious inhibitory activity against tyrosinase, and can be used to prepare tyrosinase inhibitors or whitening agents.

Compositions and methods are disclosed herein for inducing (up-regulating) the expression of sulfotransferases in the hair follicles, e.g., the scalp. Increasing sulfotransferase is beneficial for metabolizing pro-drugs that require sulfonation to be activated, e.g., minoxidil sulfate is the active metabolite of minoxidil. In addition, compositions and methods for increasing or decreasing the growth rate of hair follicles is disclosed by altering the intracellular pH.

Disclosed is a powder composition consisting essentially of Magnolia officinalis bark extract comprising magnolol and honokiol, tocopherol or tocopherol acetate, lecithin, at least one gum, and optionally water, wherein the composition is in powdered form.

The present disclosure relates to a composition for treating or preventing alopecia including decursin, wherein when administered externally or orally, the decursin promotes secretion of KGF in hair follicle tissues, prevents apoptosis of hair follicle cells, and exhibits the effect of promoting hair growth, thereby being useful for the treatment or prevention of alopecia.

A natural hair product for improving and restoring the condition of hair, and promoting the strength and growth of the hair, includes filtered water, burdock powder, stinging nettle powder, peppermint, horsetail powder, lavender flowers, and hibiscus flowers, in a base of olive oil, avocado oil, vitamin E, and lavender oil. If desired, the hair preparation may also include rosemary and fenugreek powder. The method of making the hair product is also disclosed.
