Skin Lightening Formulations
Provided are pharmaceutical compositions for skin lightening, which are particularly useful in treating skin hyperpigmentation, together with methods for their use. The compositions comprise glutathione conjugated to a peptide having a sequence comprising PKEK and cysteamine or a pharmaceutical salt thereof.
Method of treating or ameliorating skin conditions with a magnetic dipole stabilized solution
The present invention is directed to methods for treating or ameliorating skin conditions, diabetic conditions, cardiovascular conditions, cancer, infections or metal poisoning, enhancing performance, or providing nutritional support, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof compositions comprising a magnetic dipole stabilized solution (MDSS). The MDSS solution may include additional components and can be provided in a kit.
TOPICAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
The present invention relates generally to methods of use and compositions useful to reduce dark spots, age spots, and/or unwanted pigmentation of skin. The composition includes a combination of niacinamide, phytic acid, Rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, Chondrus crispus extract, and a combination of Saxifraga sarmentosa extract, Carica papaya (papaya) fruit extract, and Psidium guajava (guava) fruit extract. The composition is effective to reduce dark spots, age spots, and/or unwanted pigmentation of skin. The composition is effective to inhibit tyrosinase and/or Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma (PPAR-γ) activity. The composition is further effective to reduce melanin content in skin, particularly dark skin, in some instances by at least 30%.
ANTIBACTERIAL PRO-COAGULANT FORMULA
The disclosed invention provides an antibacterial pro-coagulant formula for assisting in combating the condition of bleeding gums caused by periodontal disease and gingivitis that enhances the natural healing process by assisting in the of cessation of bleeding by providing an “anti-bacterial oral healing environment” accompanied by enhanced blood flow to the affected bleeding area for more rapid blood clotting and increased blood flow to the affected area to assist the body's natural process of rebuilding healthy gum-tissue. Additionally, the disclosed invention with its antibacterial benefits, when used topically, provides for rapid surface skin blood clotting as well as increased blood circulation on the skin surface which greatly aids in the healing of external skin cuts, such as nicks from shaving or against inflammation of the skin from acne vulgaris. Continued use of the product orally and topically has proven to provide a beneficial stability to overall oral and skin health, especially useful in promoting healing in high-bacterial environments, such as is common in a person's mouth or on their face. Further described is a method of promoting hair follicle growth by application of the presented invention to a human scalp to promote blood flow to the scalp through below skin surface blood vessel dilation and below surface anti-bacterial cleansing of the scalp effecting an unrestricted and healthy skin tissue environment conducive to promoting hair follicle re-growth.
Low pH Skin Care Composition and Methods of Using the Same
Disclosed is an efficacious, low-pH skin care composition that provides good sensory properties and has a low skin irritation potential. The low-pH composition includes an effective amount of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound and, optionally, one or more additional skin care actives to provide a skin health and/or appearance benefit. The low-pH composition also includes a salt/acid pH buffer system, an acid tolerant polymeric thickener and, optionally, a silicone fluid having a kinematic viscosity of 100 cSt or less at 25° C. The pH of the low-pH composition can range from 2.0 to 5.0.
Method of Improving Penetration of a Vitamin B3 Compound into Skin
Disclosed is a method of improving the penetration of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound into skin. The method involves a skin care regimen in which at least two skin care compositions are used in sequence to treat a target portion of skin where a skin health or appearance benefit is desired. The first composition applied to the skin is a low-pH skin care composition that contains a first concentration of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound. The second skin care composition applied to the skin is a conventional skin care composition that contains a higher concentration of the vitamin B.sub.3 compound than the first composition. When applied in the proper sequence, the regimen results in an unexpectedly high vitamin B.sub.3 flux into the skin.
METHOD OF TREATING A SKIN CONDITION
An improved method of treating a skin barrier condition is disclosed. The method involves identifying a target portion of skin on a person where treatment is desired and applying a low-pH composition to the target portion of skin. The low-pH composition contains an effective amount of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound and has a pH of less than 5.0.
SYNERGISTIC ANTI-INFLAMMATORY COMPOSITIONS
The present invention is directed to a personal composition comprising a) a strobilurin; b) salicylic acid wherein the ratio of a:b is from about 1:1 to about 100:1; wherein there is a synergistic anti-inflammatory/cellular stress activity.
Compositions and methods for preventing and reversing aspects of aging
The present invention includes compositions and methods preventing or reversing the symptoms of aging in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an amount of a composition comprising pterostilbene, nicotinamide, and optionally vitamin A (retinol), and one or more retinoids effective to prevent or reverse the symptoms of aging.
Method of Treating Oxidative Stress in Skin and Compositions Therefor
Cellular energy levels in skin cells affected by oxidative stress can be improved through the use of a skin care composition that includes a sucrose ester and a fatty alcohol present at a specific ratio. The fatty alcohol and sucrose ester, when incorporated into a skin care composition at a specific ratio, can provide a synergistic improvement in cellular ATP level for skin cells suffering from the effects of oxidative stress.
