Cosmetic preparation in gel form
The invention relates to a cosmetic composition for application in the eye area in the form of a gelatinous emulsion, and to the preparation and use thereof.
COMPOSITE PARTICLE AND PREPARATION THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composite particle comprising: at least one hydrophilic core particle; and a plurality of hydrophobic particles, wherein the surface of the hydrophilic core particle is substantially discontinuously covered by the hydrophobic particles. The novel composite particle according to the present invention can have surface active properties sufficient to prepare stable Pickering emulsions, and can maintain the surface active properties over a long period of time. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing the above composite particle.
MASCARA COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USE
A method for improving the curl of eyelashes is provided. A composition is applied to eyelashes, and a magnetic element is then moved above the eyelash in the direction of desired curl. The disclosed composition, which may also be provided separately or in a kit along with a magnetic element for use with the disclosed method, requires three components: (i) one or more iron oxides in a total amount of at least 20% by weight, (ii) one or more latex polymers present in a total amount of at least 6% by weight; and (iii) one or more waxes having a melting point T.sub.m≥80° C.
Methods of Increasing the Volume of a Fiber, Such as Mammalian Hair, and/or Altering the Structure of a Fiber with a Chitosan Polyelectrolyte Complex
The invention includes methods of increasing the volume of a fiber by applying to the fiber a chitosan cross linked with or complexed to an aldehyde-bearing compound, and a polyanion. The fiber is then dried forming a chitosan polyelectrolyte complex on the hair that increases the dimension of the fiber. The fiber may be wet prior to application and may be a mammalian hair. Also included are method of semi-permanently altering the structure of hair that includes topically applying to hair a chitosan cross linked with or complexed to an aldehyde-bearing compound, and a polyanion. Also contemplated within the scope of the invention is a hair care polyelectrolyte complex that includes a chitosan cross linked with or complexed to an aldehyde-bearing compound, and a polyanion. Systems for hair treatment are also encompassed within the scope of the invention and include at least two formulations: a first formulation comprising a chitosan cross linked with or complexed to an aldehyde-bearing compound, and a second formulation comprising a polyanion. Such systems may be included in hair care kits.
Styling composition for curly hair
The present application discloses a hairstyling composition, particularly for curly hair, which produces tight, long-lasting curls without requiring the use of high heat applied to the hair. The composition comprises a sulfonate-based copolymer (such as sodium polystyrene sulfonate), an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (such as polyurethane-34) and a cosmetically-acceptable carrier (such as water). The method of styling hair using the defined composition, without requiring the application of high heat to the hair, is also disclosed.
Robust sunscreen compositions
A robust sunscreen composition is disclosed herein comprising a water soluble polymer and a water insoluble film former providing a synergistic effect in SPF retention and critical wavelength after immersion in water, salt water, and chlorinated water. The water soluble polymer comprises poloxamer 338 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, poloxamer 407 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, or a combination thereof.
SUBSTANTIALLY SILICONE-FREE GELLED COMPOSITIONS
The present disclosure relates to substantially silicone-free gelled compositions.
PARTICLE-CONTAINING COMPOSITION
Disclosed are: a particle-containing composition that contains inorganic particles (A) and particles (B) other than the particles (A), wherein the inorganic particles (A) are at least one selected from the group consisting of easily disintegrable inorganic particles (A1) having an average particle diameter D.sub.A1 of 1 μm or more and 50 μm or less, and having a surface roughness Ra of 10 nm or more and 50 nm or less, and inorganic particles (A2) having an average particle diameter D.sub.A2 of less than 1 μm, and having an average primary particle diameter d.sub.A2 of 3 nm or more and 50 nm or less, and the particles (B) are particles having an average particle diameter D.sub.B of 1 μm or more and 50 μm or less, and coated on the surfaces thereof with a polymer (C) having a hydrogen bond-accepting bond or a hydrogen bond-accepting functional group; and a method for producing the particle-containing composition, and a method for suppressing adhesion of air harmful substances using the particle-containing composition.
Temporary Hair Coloring
A temporary hair coloring composition or gloss composition including a core-shell toner particle; wherein the core comprises an optional dye, an optional pigment, an optional additive; and a polymer binder; wherein the shell comprises a shell polymer and an optional additive; and a vehicle comprising a liquid, a paste, or a semi-solid; wherein the vehicle is non-toxic and does not harm hair.
Finger-moldable compositions capable of forming a free-standing coating
The present invention relates to a finger-moldable composition capable of forming a free-standing coating and suitable for application to, for example, human lips. The composition includes a thermoplastic block copolymer that includes styrenated blocks. It further includes a sufficient amount of cosmetic oil to allow a human user to mold the composition readily with the user's fingers and form a free-standing film.
