Today's suppositories are typically packaged individually for digital administration into the anal canal of a patient. A suppository applicator described herein, which works with individually packaged suppositories, can alternatively be shipped in a prepackaged operational arrangement with a suppository to enable the patient to administer the suppository through use of the applicator in a single operation after opening a hygienic wrapper containing the applicator-suppository combination. A method for manufacturing a suppository includes manufacturing the suppository in the presence of and in contact with an element configured to be used to insert the suppository into a body cavity. The method may include using the element to define a shape of the suppository during the manufacturing. The resulting applicator-suppository combination is more hygienic and easier to handle than the separate applicator and suppository and provides more efficiency from time of opening the packaging to time of commencing administration of the suppository

A device for extracting lipstick from a lipstick holder and forming a new holder for application of the extracted lipstick. The device includes a housing formed around a sliding barrel movably disposed within a tube. The sliding barrel includes a tab that extends through an aperture of the housing, wherein the tab allows a user to move the sliding barrel between an extended position and a retracted position. The tube has a circumference smaller than a circumference of the lipstick holder, such that an upper end of tube can be circumscribed by the lipstick holder. A remaining portion of lipstick within the lipstick holder is removed by the sliding barrel and received within the housing when the sliding barrel is retracted. A lipstick securing member extends from an upper end of the sliding barrel to assist in the extraction of the lipstick from the lipstick holder.

A device for extracting lipstick from a lipstick holder and forming a new holder for application of the extracted lipstick. A refill lipstick cartridge that prevents or avoids operation of the dispensing mechanism for the lipstick until the cartridge has been secured into the lower case of a lipstick case. The refill lipstick cartridge has a locked or non-functioning configuration, in which the lipstick cannot be dispensed from the refill lipstick cartridge until the refill lipstick cartridge is installed into the lower case of the lipstick case, and an unlocked or functioning configuration when installed into the lipstick case, in which the dispensing mechanism for the lipstick can function to both extend from the lipstick bullet, and retract the lipstick bullet into, the lipstick case, typically manually under the control of the user of the lipstick product. A locking mechanism that employs either friction or mechanical locking elements is manipulated to position the refill lipstick cartridge between the locked configuration and the unlocked configuration.
