A mirror system including a flat non-magnifying mirror and an inset magnifying mirror provides an installation that is aesthetically pleasing and has reduced susceptibility to damage, for installation in locations such as hotel rooms and hotel bathrooms. The magnifying mirror is inset in an aperture defined by the larger non-magnifying mirror and is either fixed in place by bonding to the edges of the aperture or using a backer, or is extendable from an extension arm that is recessed in a box that extends into a wall behind the mirror system when installed. The extension arm may be a swing arm, a telescoping arm or a scissor arm that is fastened to the back or a side of the box.

The substantially circular sway bar defines a gap configured to receive a blow dryer. The blow dryer support section defines one or more directional slots for positioning a nozzle of a blow dryer in a desired direction. The at least one elongate member may be a single elongate member so the entire hanging device is one continuous flow. The hanging device may further comprise a fastener fitted through the attachment gap to affix the hanger device to a wall, mirror, or other vertical surface. The blow dryer support section may define an open pass-through for an electrical cord between the sway bar and the directional slots to facilitate removal of a blow dryer. The position of a blow dryer can be changed by turning the blow dryer and moving the nozzle from a first directional slot to a second directional slot.

The invention comprises a hands-free, adjustable telescoping magnifying mirror. The mirror may have a first reflective surface and a second reflective surface and can be secured to a horizontal or vertical surface using a suction cup base or can be hung over a door or ledge using a retractable hanger bracket. A multi-stage telescoping rod is attached to the suction cup base and a swivel joint may be used to connect the telescoping rod to the mirror housing. The mirror may be extended from the base by extending the telescoping rod and the mirror assembly can stand freely without falling over, whether the suction cup base is engaged or not. Additionally, one or more light sources with diffuser screen may be disposed at a periphery of the first reflective surface or second reflective surface.
