PARTICLES COMPRISING BILIRUBIN DERIVATIVE AND METAL
The present invention provides hydrophilic bilirubin derivative particles containing a metal, a use thereof, and a preparation method therefor. The bilirubin derivative particles of the present invention form coordinate bonds with various metals, and thus can be used in MR diagnosis, CT diagnosis, photo-acoustic diagnosis, PET diagnosis, or optical diagnosis. The bilirubin derivative particles of the present invention can release an anticancer drug encapsulated therein to the outside by the combination with a platinum-based anticancer drug and the degradation by a stimulation of light/reactive oxygen species, and exhibit anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities, and thus the bilirubin derivative particles of the present invention have a concept of theranostics in which the bilirubin derivative particles can be for therapeutic uses as well as diagnostic uses.
ADRENALIN-CONTAINING DOUBLE LAYERED LIPID VESICLES FOR USE IN THE TREATMENT OF CARDIAC EMERGENCIES
The present invention relates to adrenaline-containing double layered lipid vesicles, preferably liposomes, for use in the treatment of the cardiac emergencies. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising said lipid vesicles, preferably in the form of an injectable liquid solution, in particular for parenteral administration during cardiac emergencies. The invention further relates to a process for the preparation of adrenaline-containing lipid vesicles.
POLYMERSOMES, COLLOIDOSOMES, LIPOSOMES, AND OTHER SPECIES ASSOCIATED WITH FLUIDIC DROPLETS
The present invention relates generally to vesicles such as liposomes, colloidosomes, and polymersomes, as well as techniques for making and using such vesicles. In some cases, the vesicles may be at least partially biocompatible and/or biodegradable. The vesicles may be formed, according to one aspect, by forming a multiple emulsion comprising a first droplet surrounded by a second droplet, which in turn is surrounded by a third fluid, where the second droplet comprises lipids and/or polymers, and removing fluid from the second droplet, e.g., through evaporation or diffusion, until a vesicle is formed. In certain aspects, the size of the vesicle may be controlled, e.g., through osmolarity, and in certain embodiments, the vesicle may be ruptured through a change in osmolarity. In some cases, the vesicle may contain other species, such as fluorescent molecules, microparticles, pharmaceutical agents, etc., which may be released upon rupture. Yet other aspects of the invention are generally directed to methods of making such vesicles, kits involving such vesicles, or the like.
ANTIFOULING ZWITTERIONIC POLYMER COATING AND REVERSE COATING METHOD
Compositions are provided according to aspects of the present invention that include a hydrogel and a liner, wherein a surface of the hydrogel dissociably-engages a surface of the liner. Compositions are provided according to aspects of the present invention that include a hydrogel and a hydrophobic glue, wherein at least a portion of the gel network of the hydrogel is occupied by the hydrophobic glue. Reverse coaling processes and articles of manufacture made by reverse coating processes are provided according to aspects of the present invention. Compositions are provided according to aspects of the present invention that include a hydrogel and a substrate, wherein: the hydrogel comprises a polymer network; the substrate comprises a surface comprising a polymer network; and the polymer network of the hydrogel and the polymer network of the surface are entangled.
METHODS AND IMMUNOGENIC COMPOSITIONS RELATING TO HER2 WITH SELECTIVE SEQUENCE MODIFICATIONS
Only limited success has been previously achieved from cancer vaccines targeting unmodified tumor-associated self-antigens and new compositions and methods are needed. Immunogenic compositions and methods of use thereof are provided according to the present disclosure which include a protein effective to stimulate immune activity against a tumor-associated self-antigen, or a variant thereof which is a tumor-associated self-antigen.
CONDITIONAL INTERNALIZATION OF PEGYLATED AGENTS BY PRETARGETING BI-SPECIFIC PEG-BINDING ANTIBODIES FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY
A monomeric bispecific polyethylene glycol (PEG) engager that includes an anti-PEG Fab fused to a disulfide stabilized scFv that specifically binds to a cell surface antigen. The PEG engager, in the absence of PEG, remains monomeric upon binding to the cell surface antigen on a cell and remains on the surface of the cell. Also provided is a method for treating cancer by administering a PEG engager followed by a PEGylated anti-cancer agent. A kit that contains a PEG engager and a PEGylated anti-cancer agent is also disclosed. Further disclosed are methods for imaging cells and diagnosing cancer by administering a PEG engager followed by a PEGylated imaging agent. Another kit is provided that includes the PEG engager and the PEGylated imaging agent.
METHODS AND IMMUNOGENIC COMPOSITIONS RELATING TO HER2 WITH SELECTIVE SEQUENCE MODIFICATIONS
Zwitterionic monomers, carnitine-derived zwitterionic polymers, carnitine ester cationic monomers, carnitine ester cationic polymers, conjugate compositions including a carnitine-derived zwitterionic polymer, and related compositions' and methods are provided which have various uses including as coatings, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, encapsulation materials, and antifouling materials, among other utilities.
Lipid derivative in which hydrophilic polymer is bound through cyclic benzylidene acetal linker
A lipid derivative in which a hydrophilic polymer is bound through a cyclic benzylidene acetal linker, and which can accurately control a hydrolysis rate in the weakly acidic environment of a living body to detach the hydrophilic polymer from a lipid membrane structure. The lipid derivative is represented by formula (1): ##STR00001##
