PSMA-targeting compounds and uses thereof
Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) targeting compounds are described. Uses of the compounds for imaging, therapy, cell sorting, and tumor mapping are also described.
Curcumin coated magnetite nanoparticles for biomedical applications
The present invention discloses biocompatible, stable curcumin or its derivatives coated ultra-small super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (USPION) for biomedical applications. Disclosed herein is also a simple one-pot process for the synthesis of biocompatible, stable curcumin or its derivatives coated ultra-small superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in absence of a linker or binder. The curcumin or its derivatives coated ultra-small super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles of the present invention retains the medicinal, radical scavenging and fluorescence properties of curcumin.
SACCHARIDE ANALOGS AND AGENTS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
This disclosure relates saccharide analogs such as thiomaltose-based analogs for targeting bacteria and related uses. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to methods of transferring a molecule of interest into bacteria comprising mixing bacteria with a non-naturally occurring conjugate, wherein the conjugate comprises a thiomaltose-based analog and a molecule of interest under conditions such that the conjugate is transported across the bacterial cell wall. In certain embodiments, the molecule of interest can be a tracer or an antibiotic.
1,4,7,10-TETRAZACYCLODODECANE BASED AGENTS TO TARGET BACTERIA AND ITS USE
The present invention relates to new compounds comprising a siderophore moiety as well as a core structure able to chelate a metal ion. Optionally, the compounds may have additionally a moiety with a functional element including a marker molecule, a bioactive agent, an activity based probe suitable to monitor the aberrant expression or activity of proteins involved in the initiation and progression of bacterial infection, or a compound useful for bacterial inhibition. In a further aspect, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition containing said compound, for example, said pharmaceutical composition is an antibiotic. Additionally, the present invention relates to the use of said compounds in diagnostic methods, in particular, imaging methods including SPEC, PET or MRI. In an embodiment of the present invention, the compound is part of a theranostic composition having both, therapeutic as well as diagnostic activities.
PROSTATE-SPECIFIC MEMBRANE ANTIGEN (PSMA) TARGETING PEPTIDES
Described herein is the discovery of novel PSMA-specific peptides, which were identified through a novel combinatorial biopanning method. One of the novel PSMA-specific peptides discovered, GTIQPYPFSWGY (or GTI) (SEQ ID NO: 2), exhibits high binding affinity and selectivity to PSMA and PSMA-positive prostate cancer cells. It was found that GTI can mediate internalization of the apoptotic KLA peptide to PSMA-positive LNCaP cells and induce cell death. Moreover, a FAM-labeled GTI peptide shows a high and specific tumor uptake in nude mice bearing human prostate cancer xenografts. It was demonstrated that the GTI peptide can be employed as a PSMA-specific ligand for prostate cancer diagnosis and/or for targeted drug delivery to prostate cancer cells.
SYNTHESIS AND COMPOSITION OF AMINO ACID LINKING GROUPS CONJUGATED TO COMPOUNDS USED FOR THE TARGETED IMAGING OF TUMORS
The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a pteroyl ligand that binds to a target receptor protein, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid or derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for incorporating the compounds as used for the targeted imaging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in human subjects. Conjugation of the amino acid linking groups increase specificity and detection of the compound. Methods and compositions for use thereof in diagnostic imaging are contemplated.
Method of imaging osteoarthritis using a folate conjugate
The invention relates to a method of treating or diagnosing a disease state mediated by monocytes. The method utilizes a composition comprising a conjugate or complex of the general formula
A.sub.b-X
wherein the group A.sub.b comprises a ligand that binds to monocytes, and when the conjugate is being used for treatment of the disease state, the group X comprises an immunogen, a cytotoxin, or a compound capable of altering monocyte function, and when the conjugate is being used for diagnosing the disease state, the group X comprises an imaging agent.
