The invention relates to an infusate holder for use in dialysis. The infusate holder can include one or more interior compartments for holding infusate containers or infusates. The interior compartments are aligned to cooperate with fluid connectors of a dialysis system, ensuring that the proper infusates are added to the dialysis system at a proper location.

The proportioning machine is configured to receive purified water and to mix it with the concentrated medicaments to produce a medicament and to output the medicament to a medicament consumer in such a way that to the medicament consumer the medicament appears to be provided from a bag of medicament. Custom mini batches of medicament may be produced by varying the amount of the concentrates and water.

The fluid circuit includes a mixing container that is initially empty and later filled with two different concentrated medicaments from different concentrate containers and with purified water. The circuit may include one or more pre-connected fluid quality sensors, such as conductivity sensors, in fluid communication with the mixing container. A single sterilizing filter is fluidly connected to two different medicament concentrates and the concentrates pass through the sterilizing filter. The sterilizing filter is tested to ensure its integrity. Little or no mixed fluid is lost during conductivity testing and custom mini batches of medicament may be produced by varying the amount of the concentrates and water.
