A cosmetic applicator for applying a product including a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical product onto the keratinous substrate. The cosmetic applicator comprises an applying member and a shank. The applying member comprises a first application face and a second application face opposite to the first application face, a first peripheral edge, and a second peripheral edge opposite the first peripheral edge. The applying member has a plurality of bulged portions on the second application face and a corresponding plurality of depressed portions on the first application face. The plurality of bulged portions extend from the first peripheral edge towards a central longitudinal axis of the applying member but do not extend up to the second peripheral edge. Each of the plurality of bulged portions has an arched structure, and each of the plurality of depressed portion has a concave bowl structure.

There is provided an applicator head (10) for administration of a topical formulation, comprising a dosing aid for application of a predefined dose of the topical formulation. The applicator head (10) comprises an applicator surface (20) adapted to apply the topical formulation to a user's skin. The applicator surface (20) comprises an outlet opening (40). The dosing aid comprises a dose marking, or dose markings (60, 60′, 60″, 62′, 62″) on the applicator surface (20), and wherein the dose marking (60, 60′, 60″, 62′, 62″) circumscribes an inner dosing compartment (64) that serves to measure the predefined dose of the topical formulation, and wherein the outlet opening (40) is disposed inside the inner dosing compartment.

An applicator of the invention includes a main body, a storage chamber disposed in the main body, an application body disposed at an end of the main body to allow application of the liquid stored in the storage chamber, a partition for partitioning between the storage chamber side and the application body side, the partition including a flow passage to supply the liquid in the storage chamber to the application body, an axially movable air communication pipe having an air port open to the storage chamber, which abuts on the partition to close the flow passage, and communicates the storage chamber with the atmosphere while having the flow passage closed, and a spring member for urging the air communication pipe to abut on the partition, and separating the air communication pipe from the partition through vibration of the main body to allow guiding of the liquid in the storage chamber.

A cosmetic applicator for applying a product including a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical composition onto the keratinous substrate such as skin, lips, under eyes, eyelids, cheeks, or any other part of the body. The cosmetic applicator includes an applicator head having an applying member and a shank portion. The applying member includes a stiffness modifying portion to modify the resistance of the applying member to deflection in a transverse direction. In one embodiment the applying member comprises a first application face and a second application face. The stiffness modifying portion comprises a hinge formed between the shank portion and the applying member. The hinge is limited to a single zone in a circumference of the applicator head to provide flexibility to the applying member giving user the feeling that the applying member is very soft and resilient. According to another embodiment the applying member comprises a planar spatula member with a first face and an opposite second face. The applying member further includes two convex bulges, namely a first convex bulge and a second convex bulge extending in opposite directions from respective of the first face and the second face of the spatula member. The bulges increase the stiffness of a portion of the applying member.

A false eyelash dispensing device is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a lash belt removably supports at least one lash strip thereon. An elongate housing is sized and configured for receiving the at least one lash belt therewithin. Upon a button being manually depressed after the at least one lash belt is selectively advanced so as to position a lash strip directly in front of an exit opening of the housing, the button is configured for moving opposing first and second halves of an eyelash holder into abutting contact with one another, thereby temporarily sandwiching said lash strip therebetween, and moving the eyelash holder from a retracted position to an extended position, thereby detaching said lash strip from the lash belt and moving said lash strip through the exit opening so that said lash strip may be subsequently applied to the user's eyelid while engaged with the eyelash holder.

A device for extracting lipstick from a lipstick applicator comprising a plunger, the plunger having a series of rib members along one end of the plunger that run parallel to its longitudinal axis, a pin is disposed at the other end of the plunger and traverse to the longitudinal axis of the plunger, a tubular extractor, the extractor having a guide slot through its side wall, one end of the extractor has a series of rib members, the rib members extend parallel to the extractors longitudinal axis, the plunger is coaxially received within the extractor and the pin extends through the slot to guide travel of the plunger in the extractor whereby when the ribbed end of the extractor is inserted within a lipstick applicator having lipstick to be extracted, lipstick will be captured within the ribbed end of the extractor. The extracted lipstick may be dispensed from the device by selectively moving the plunger. One embodiment provides a threaded sleeve to guide the plunger pin as the extractor is rotated.

Example aspects of a brush assembly and a method for providing a brush assembly are disclosed. The brush assembly can comprise a plurality of elongate primary brush bristles, each of the primary brush bristles defining a star-shaped transverse cross section, each of the primary brush bristles defining five substantially parallel outer edges and five substantially parallel inner edges extending along a length of the primary brush bristle; and a ferrule attached to the plurality of primary brush bristles.

In various implementations, a dropper for a bottle may include a bulb with a flange and an extended leg. The dropper may be used as a cap, in some implementations, with or without a skirt. The dropper may inhibit leaks from a bottle when the dropper is used as a cap for the bottle.

A cosmetic applicator is capable of reliably scooping an appropriate amount of a cosmetic, coming into firm contact with an application area such as a lip, and evenly spreading the cosmetic over the application area. A cosmetic applicator 1 includes a substantially flat application member 3 extending from a tip of a rod-like support member 2 at an angle θ.sub.1 of 0 to 45 degrees with respect to an axial center of the support member, wherein the application member 3 is formed in a spiral shape in a direction in which the application member 3 extends, and a flat surface of a front end portion of the application member 3 is at an angle θ.sub.2 of 10 to 120 degrees with respect to a flat surface of a rear end portion of the application member.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic for hair 100 including a container 1 having a liquid hair cosmetic preparation L accommodated in the inside thereof; and an applicator 2 provided with not only an application body 4 at one end of an application shaft 3 but also a container lid part 5 at the other end of the application shaft 3, wherein the hair cosmetic preparation L has a viscosity at 25° C. of 5,000 mPa.Math.s or less; and the application body 4 is provided with an absorptive member having a density of 15 kg/m.sup.3 or more and 95 kg/m.sup.3 or less, and the absorptive member covers the entirety of the one end of the application shaft 3.
