Blood purification apparatus
A blood purification apparatus employing a single-needle double-pump method and being capable of automatically discharging a priming solution that has undergone substitution from a blood circuit during blood removal. A blood purification apparatus includes a blood circuit to which an only puncture needle is connectable, a dialyzer that purifies blood flowing in the blood circuit, a first blood pump, a second blood pump, and a control device that allows the blood of a patient to be extracorporeally circulated through the blood circuit by causing the first blood pump and the second blood pump to alternately undergo normal rotation. During blood removal, the control device operates to substitute a priming solution in the blood circuit with the blood of the patient and to discharge the priming solution having undergone the substitution from the blood circuit by causing the first blood pump to undergo normal rotation and the second blood pump to undergo reverse rotation.
Blood Purification Apparatus
A blood purification apparatus is provided in which waste liquid is prevented from flowing through an ultrafiltration pump during ultrafiltration so that the performance and accuracy of ultrafiltration can be maintained over a long period. The blood purification apparatus includes an ultrafiltration line one end of which is connected to a dialysate introduction line at a position on a downstream side with respect to a duplex pump. The ultrafiltration line is provided with the ultrafiltration pump. The ultrafiltration pump is capable of performing ultrafiltration by drawing dialysate in the dialysate introduction line through the ultrafiltration line such that the volume of the dialysate to be introduced into a dialyzer becomes smaller than the volume of waste liquid to be drained from the dialyzer.
FLUID PUMPING DEVICE AND BLOOD PURIFYING APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME
Provided is a blood purifying apparatus including a blood purifying filter in which mass transfer occurs between blood and dialysis fluid, a blood tube connecting the blood purifying filter and a patient to allow blood to flow therethrough, a dialysis fluid supply tube connected to the blood purifying filter and allowing dialysis fluid to be supplied to the blood purifying filter therethrough, a dialysis fluid discharge tube connected to the blood purifying filter and allowing dialysis fluid to be discharged from the blood purifying filter therethrough; and a fluid pumping device. The fluid pumping device further includes a plurality of chamber each having an internal space, a chamber pressurizing member disposed inside the plurality of chambers and compressing or expanding the chambers to thereby allow a fluid to flow therethrough, and a flow controller controlling a flow passage.

Blood treatment systems
Dialyzer systems can consolidate multiple technologies and functionalities of blood treatment systems in a significantly integrated fashion. For example, this disclosure describes dialyzer systems that include a magnetically driven and magnetically levitating pump rotor integrated into the dialyzer. Such a dialyzer can be used with treatment modules that include a magnetic field-generating pump drive unit. In some embodiments, the dialyzers include pressure sensor chambers with flexible membranes with which corresponding pressure transducers of the treatment modules can interface to detect arterial and/or venous pressures.

The present invention relates to a method of determining the pressure or of a parameter correlated with the pressure in an extracorporeal circuit of a blood treatment apparatus, in particular of a dialyzer, wherein at least one blood pump which is driven by at least one motor is located in the blood circuit, wherein the motor current of the named motor and the blood flow or a parameter correlated therewith is measured for determining the pressure or the parameter correlated therewith and wherein the pressure p or the parameter correlated therewith is calculated from the measured values.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A FLUID PROCEDURE USING HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE
A computer-implemented method comprises providing a fluid circuit comprising fluid pathways configured to mount and associate with a durable processing device comprising a pressure sensor in communication with a controller and a fluid pathway. A container is connected to the pressure sensor and may receive a volume of fluid. A change in pressure values between a first and second time is measured from when the volume of fluid is not in communication with the pressure sensor to when the volume of fluid is in communication with the pressure sensor, the volume of fluid within the container or a presence or absence of a fluid connection to the fluid pathway based on the change in pressure values is determined, and a response action is executed if the volume of fluid within the container is not within an authorized volume range for the time period, or if a fluid connection is unauthorized.
