A hairstyling flat iron includes a first arm having a first gripping portion and a first styling portion; a second arm having a second gripping portion and a second styling portion; a biasing member coupled with the first gripping portion and the second gripping portion to move the second arm relative to the first arm; a first heat heating plate located on the first styling portion and facing the second arm, the first heating plate having a first heat transmissive plate and a first coating disposed on the first heat transmissive plate, the first coating having ceramic and lava rock incorporated therein; and a second heat heating plate located on the second styling portion and facing the first arm, the second heating plate having a second heat transmissive plate and a second coating disposed on the second heat transmissive plate, the second coating having ceramic and lava rock incorporated therein.

A hair appliance in which the axis of air flow through the appliance is generally in a parallel first direction through one end of the appliance and the handle and then exits the hair appliance in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The air flow through the handle is not heated. Thus, special heat resistance and/or heat shielding materials are not required in the handle. In this manner, the handle may be sized in a manner that ergonomically fits a user's hand. Further, moisture may be provided from the hair appliance. The moisture may be directed towards a user's hair by a negative pressure that results from the heated air flows proximate the moisture region. In one embodiment, the moisture generation unit may be an ultrasonic vibration unit using a piezoelectric vibrator. In one embodiment, the hair styling appliance may be a paddle dryer.

A dryer for drying hair or clothes is disclosed. The dryer includes a head and a handle attached to the head. The dryer further includes ultrasonic devices, a controller, a vacuum pump, and a reservoir. The head has a surface on which inlet holes are formed. The ultrasonic devices are positioned on the surface of the head. The ultrasonic devices produce ultrasonic vibrations that break down water molecules into mist. The controller controls an operation of the ultrasonic devices. The vacuum pump is positioned inside the head to generate suction force that draws the mist into the head. The reservoir is positioned inside the handle and connected to the vacuum pump by way of a conduit. The reservoir collects the mist generated by the plurality of the ultrasonic devices.

An applicator for beauty products comprises a lighting device for providing lighting when applying beauty products. In various embodiments, the lighting device is a hollow body enclosing a power supply, such as one or more batteries, with the power supply and including a light source. The light source is surrounded by an opaque body so the light source casts an even glow of light. Further, the light source has in such a shape or an orientation allowing the light source to emit beyond an outer perimeter of one or more interchangeable brush heads that are coupled to an outer circumference of the light source. The hollow body also includes a switch coupled to the power supply and to the light source. When activated, the switch completes a circuit providing power from the power supply to the light source, causing the light source to emit light.

An apparatus for treating human skin includes an outer housing including a graspable portion, an applicator head and a cartridge connected to the applicator head. The cartridge includes a nozzle located in the applicator head. An image capture device captures images of the human skin through an opening in the applicator head. A processor analyzes the images of the human skin to identify skin deviations. A sealing assembly includes a support portion and a resiliently deformable sealing element supported by the support portion at a location within the applicator head. The sealing assembly has a closed configuration where the sealing element is sealed against the nozzle and an open configuration where the sealing element is removed outward away from the nozzle in a composition delivery direction to expose the nozzle for operation.

The present disclosure relates to a beauty treatment device comprising: an upper portion; a lower portion; a handle formed on the lower portion; a hollow hole formed in the upper portion; a conductive holder configured in the hollow hole; and a beauty treatment water generator detachably attachable to the conductive holder, wherein at least a part of the beauty treatment water generator is configured as a conductor so that, when the beauty treatment water generator is inserted into the conductive holder and beauty treatment water flowing out of the beauty treatment water generator contacts skin, micro-currents, which are generated in the beauty treatment device and flow through a beauty treatment water, can flow through human skin after passing through the conductive holder and the conductor.

An apparatus for cleaning and styling a user's hair is described herein. The apparatus applies negative pressure on a user's hair and/or scalp to remove dirt and debris. The apparatus permits a user to clean his or her hair without applying potentially damaging cleaning products. In one embodiment of the invention, the apparatus is comprised of hinging plates that may be opened to place hair within the plates. Negative pressure, which may be generated by motors, may be generated and delivered to the surface of the apparatus where hair meets the plates. The application of negative pressure cleans the portion of hair and/or scalp that is placed within the plates.

According to an aspect, there is provided a method comprising generating (202) a guidance indicator relating to a portion of a user; determining (204) a position of a portion of a portable device relative to the portion of the user; and generating (208) an indication signal when it is determined that at least a portion of the portable device is in a defined position relative to the guidance indicator. According to other aspects, apparatus and a machine readable medium are provided.

An apparatus is provided that stabilizes an applicator in response to the motion caused by a user, comprising: a receiver configured to be coupled with a cosmetic applicator; at least one sensor configured to detect a movement caused by a user; circuitry configured to determine a compensation movement to offset the detected movement; and at least one motion generation device embedded in the receiver configured to control a motion of the cosmetic applicator according to the determined compensation movement.
