Self-orienting pressure jacket and pressure jacket-to-injector interface
A pressure jacket for use with a fluid injector includes a barrel having a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall extending between the distal end and the proximal end along a longitudinal axis. The pressure jacket includes at least one engagement member protruding from a terminal portion of the proximal end of the barrel in a proximal direction along the longitudinal axis. The at least one engagement member tapers axially in a direction from the distal end toward the proximal end of the barrel. The at least one engagement member engages with a locking mechanism on the fluid injector to releasably lock the pressure jacket with the fluid injector. A taper of the at least one engagement member rotationally guides the barrel into self-alignment with the locking mechanism and axially ejects the barrel upon rotation of the barrel about the longitudinal axis.
ANTI-ROTATION CARTRIDGE PIN
A system is disclosed for inserting a pharmaceutical cartridge into a delivery device. Optionally the cartridge is inserted in an arbitrary orientation. Optionally, the system reorients the cartridge to a locked orientation. For example, a driver applies a torque to the cartridge to cause the reorienting. For example, said torque rotates the cartridge around an axis thereof until the cartridge reaches the locked orientation. Optionally, when the cartridge reaches the locked orientation an interference element on the cartridge interlocks with a complementary interference element on the delivery device to lock the cartridge in the locked orientation. Optionally when the cartridge is locked in the second orientation, the torque causes discharge the pharmaceutical.
SAFETY QUICK-REFILL COMPACT PUMP FOR ADMINISTERING DRUGS
A safety quick-refill compact pump for administering drugs is provided. The pump includes a motor-driven electromechanical actuator, a cylindrical container, and a hollow piercing element. The actuator causes bi-directional axial sliding of a rod that carries a pusher adapted to cause axial sliding of a plunger of the container which contains a liquid drug and is equipped, at an end thereof, with a pierceable membrane. The actuator is provided with a first connecting portion of a male-female connecting joint at least partially surrounding the rod. The container is provided with a second connecting portion of the male-female connecting joint and is firmly associated with the actuator and defines a cylindrical chamber axially extending about the sliding axis of the rod. The piercing element is oriented toward the inside of the chamber and defines a duct so that the piercing element is in fluid communication with the inside of the reservoir.
MEDICAL PUMP
A medical pump, comprising: a fluid housing having a plurality of intake openings, sealed by at least one intake valve, and an outlet opening sealed by an outlet valve; a piston which is sealing the fluid housing and connected to a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism pulls the piston to draw fluid from one of the plurality of intake openings and pushes the piston to discharge the fluid into the outlet opening; and a selecting valve enclosing at least two tubes, each providing fluid to one of the plurality of intake openings, wherein the selecting valve closes one of the at least two tubes while opening another of the at least two tubes.
IDENTIFICATION TAG READER SYSTEM
A reader system for reading information on at least one identification tag associated with a syringe connected to a fluid injector has a detector and a background screen spaced apart from the detector such that at least one of the at least one identification tags is positioned in an optical path between the detector and the background screen when the syringe is connected to the fluid injector. The reader system further has an illumination system configured for illuminating at least a portion of the background screen. The detector is configured for detecting and decoding the at least one identification tag. Methods for reading information on at least one identification tag associated with a syringe are also described.
Drive Unit for a Liquid Handling Device and Liquid Handling Device
A drive unit for a medical device includes a drive unit housing, a drive member retained in the drive unit housing and movable relative to the drive unit housing to drive an operation of the medical device, the drive member includes a coupler output portion configured to be operatively connected to a liquid handling unit, a drive mechanism retained in the drive unit housing, wherein the drive mechanism is coupleable or coupled to the drive member via a mechanism interface and is configured to transfer a driving force or torque to the drive member, and a sealing member provided to establish a sealed interface with the drive member, wherein the sealed interface defines a sealed section of the interior of the drive unit housing, wherein the mechanism interface is arranged within the sealed section and the coupler output portion is arranged outside of the sealed section.
MULTI-FEATURED PANEL FASTENER AND PANEL SYSTEM INCLUDING THE MULTI-FEATURED PANEL FASTENER
A panel fastener is provided that has a head having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface; an engagement feature on the first surface of the head, the engagement feature being configured to be engaged by a driving tool; a shank extending from the second surface of the head; a threaded portion extending from the shank, the threaded portion having first and second helical threads arranged in an intertwined manner; the first thread extending farther radially from the central axis than does the second thread; and the shank being located between the head and the threaded portion.
INFUSION SYSTEM HAVING AN INFUSION PUMP AND HAVING A PUMP MODULE THAT CAN BE COUPLED THERETO
An infusion system includes a pump and a replaceable pump module. The pump module can be arranged in a mount of the pump and includes a plunger-barrel unit operatively connectable to a drive mechanism of the pump. The pump module includes a plunger that can be coupled to the drive mechanism by a coupling structure operatively connected to the plunger and a counter-coupling structure for connecting engagement in the coupling structure and operatively connected to the drive mechanism. In a securing position, the infusion system includes a securing member which locks the coupling structure and the counter-coupling structure to each other. In addition or in the alternative, the infusion pump includes a control link operatively connected to the pump module.
PATCH PUMP CARTRIDGE ATTACHMENT
A user-wearable patch pump system for delivery of insulin or other medicament can include a patch pump having a reusable drive unit and a replaceable and refillable cartridge. The cartridge can selectively attach to and be detached from the drive unit. The cartridge can initially be inserted onto the drive unit in a first orientation at an angle to the drive unit and then be rotated to align the cartridge with the drive unit and lock the cartridge in place on the drive unit to form the patch pump.
