The one or more pins are movable within the one or more tracks with movement of the cam sleeve between a first or withdrawn position, wherein the one or more pins are radially withdrawn into the piston head and a second or extended position, wherein the one or more pins protrude radially outward relative to an outer surface of the piston head.

MULTI-FLUID MEDICAL INJECTOR SYSTEM AND METHODS OF OPERATION
20200390968 · 2020-12-17 ·

A multi-fluid injector system and methods of operation thereof are presented. One embodiment of such a fluid injector system includes an automatic refill procedure for a fluid injector system comprising a fluid injector and an operably engaged syringe. The procedure includes the step of determining, using an electronic control device operably controlling the fluid injector system, whether a fluid injection procedure involving the syringe is impending. If the electronic control device determines that the fluid injection procedure is not impending, such that the automatic refill will not interfere with the fluid injection procedure, an automatic refill of the syringe is initiated.

Apparatus for infusing fluid

A pump for pumping fluid includes a tube platen, a plunger, a bias member, inlet and outlet valves, an actuator mechanism, a position sensor, and a processor. The plunger is configured for actuation toward and away from the infusion-tube when the tube platen is disposed opposite to the plunger. The tube platen can hold an intravenous infusion tube. The bias member is configured to urge the plunger toward the tube platen.

Syringe attachment device and methods

A syringe adapter having a syringe holder and an actuator are disclosed. The syringe holder may include a fixed portion that may receive a barrel of a syringe and an adjustable portion adjustably positioned relative to the fixed portion, where the adjustable portion may receive a plunger of the syringe. To facilitate aspirating fluid to and/or dispensing fluid from the syringe, the actuator may be selectively actuated with one or more digits or a palm of a user's hand to adjust a position of the adjustable portion. The selective actuation of the actuator may be performed with one or more digits of the user while two or more other digits are engaging a portion of the adapter adjacent a dispensing end of the syringe. The adapter may include a gear system translating movement of the actuator to movement of the adjustable portion of the syringe holder.

Injector systems and syringe adapters for use therewith

An adapter for releasably attaching a syringe to an injector. The adapter comprises a mounting mechanism positioned at a rear end of the adapter to mount the adapter in a desired position relative to a front wall of the injector; and a syringe carrier section adapted to seat at least a portion of the syringe. The syringe carrier section defines a first opening on a top thereof to allow placement of the syringe therein from the top and a second opening in a rear section thereof to allow the drive member of the injector to communicate forward force to the plunger. A cover portion extends over a rearward end of the first opening and has a first end configured to abut the flange of the syringe when the syringe is positioned within the syringe carrier section.

System for syringe engagement to an injector

An injector system for injecting fluid includes a syringe and an injector. The syringe includes a body and a plunger movably disposed within the body. The plunger has at least one flexible leg extending toward the rearward end of the body. The injector has a housing with a front plate, a drive member at least partially disposed within the housing and operable to engage the plunger, and a syringe release assembly operable to release the syringe. The syringe assembly includes a syringe release gear that forms an enclosure for receiving the syringe when the syringe is fully seated within the housing and a plunger release tube surrounding at least a portion of the drive member. The plunger release tube has a first end rotationally engaged with the syringe release gear. Rotation of the syringe release assembly releases the at least one flexible leg from the drive member.
