The system includes a processor to determine parameters for fitting a curve including the value of the tubing force, to determine a fluid pressure value for a fluid in the tube based on the parameters for fitting the curve, and to activate an alarm responsive to the fluid pressure value and to the parameters for fitting the curve when an occlusion condition is identified in the tube. The parameters for fitting the curve comprise at least one time-decaying parameter(s) associated to the tubing force. A method for using the system and a non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions to perform the above method are also provided.

Syringe pump having a pressure sensor assembly
A syringe pump is disclosed that includes a pressure sensor assembly, a plunger, first and second pressure sensors, and a processor. The pressure sensor assembly senses a force and includes the plunger having a sensing surface configured to receive the force, the first pressure sensor operatively coupled to the plunger and configured to estimate the force applied to the sensing surface, and the second pressure sensor operatively coupled to the plunger and configured to estimate the force applied to the sensing surface. The processor is coupled to the first and second pressure sensors to estimate a magnitude of the force.
Infusion pump device
An infusion pump device comprises a pumping means having a fluid inlet which is adapted to be connected to a vial for taking fluid out of the vial and a fluid outlet which is adapted to be connected to an infusion catheter, and a controlling means which is adapted to be connected to the vial and to control pressure inside the vial so as to avoid occurrence of underpressure at the fluid inlet.

INFUSION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ADMINISTERING A MEDICAL FLUID TO A PATIENT
An Infusion device (1) for administering a medical fluid to a patient (P) comprises a pumping mechanism (11) for pumping a medical fluid from a fluid container (20) through a delivery line (3) towards a patient (P) at a set flow rate, a sensor device (14) for measuring a force on the pumping mechanism (11) or the delivery line (3), and a processor device (15) for deriving, from the force measured by the sensor device (14), a pressure value indicative of the pressure in the delivery line (3), wherein the processor device (15) is constituted to compare the pressure value to a threshold value for determining whether a occlusion (O) in the delivery line (3) is present. Herein, a storage device (16) stores a compliance value associated with the pumping mechanism (11) and/or the delivery line (3), wherein the processor device (15) is constituted to compute, from the stored compliance value, the flow rate and the threshold value, an estimate of a duration (T) between the time (t0) of an occurrence of an occlusion (O) in the delivery line (3) and the time (t1) at which the pressure value exceeds the threshold value (P.sub.thres). In this way an infusion device for administering a medical fluid to a patient is provided which may facilitate the programming of a threshold value for the occlusion detection and may provide a higher level of confidence to a user for the occlusion detection.
