Syringe for mixing two components and for retaining a vacuum in a storage condition
A syringe for mixing two substances which have been retained separately inside the syringe is described, for instance in a storage condition. The syringe is used for 1) retaining a dry composition in a vacuum, and 2) mixing the dry composition with an aqueous medium to form a flowable substance. One embodiment, a syringe for retaining and mixing first and second substances comprises a barrel comprising a sealable and/or closable distal outlet and a vacuum chamber for holding a first substance, a plunger incorporating a reservoir chamber for holding a second substance and configured to be axially displaced through a proximal end of the barrel, a membrane separating the vacuum chamber and the reservoir chamber, and a pointed member, such as one or more needles, for penetrating the membrane, wherein the syringe is configured such that the membrane and the pointed member are axially slidable in relation to each other.
Fluid product dispensing device
A fluid dispenser device having a body (1) with a dispenser orifice (2) and a perforator element (4), the body containing a reservoir (10) with at least two doses of fluid and having a proximal axial opening closed by a membrane (30) and a distal axial opening closed by a piston (20) to dispense one dose of fluid on each actuation. The reservoir is axially movable relative to the body between a rest position in which said perforator element does not pass through the membrane and a dispensing position in which the perforator element passes through the membrane. A perforator spring (6) is provided to urge the reservoir towards the rest position, and the membrane is adapted to close after each actuation, when said perforator element withdraws from the reservoir.
Sterilization arrangement for drug delivery device
A drug delivery system for injecting a medicament includes a housing defining a cavity, a container received within the cavity and configured to receive a medicament, the container comprising a stopper configured to move within the container and a closure, a drive assembly received within the cavity and configured to drive the stopper within the container, a needle actuator assembly received within the cavity and comprising a needle configured to be placed in fluid communication with the container, the needle moveable from a first position and a second position spaced from the first position, and a sterilizer received within the cavity and configured to sterilize at least one of the container, the drive assembly, and the needle actuator assembly upon activation of the drug delivery system.
CONTAINERS HAVING CLOSED ENDS, CONTAINER ASSEMBLIES AND MEDICAL DEVICES HAVING SUCH CONTAINERS
Container assemblies for accommodating pharmaceutical compositions are provided. The container assembly includes a container and a plunger. The container has a hollow cylindrical body with an open end and a closed end, which is closed by a bottom portion. The hollow cylindrical body has a length (L), an outer diameter (DO), and an inner diameter with a length to outer diameter ratio between 3:1 and 15:1. The hollow cylindrical body and the bottom portion are formed integrally and of the same material, which is a glass or polymer material. The container has an inner surface with an average Zn-leachability of 0.00085 g/cm.sup.2 or less. The plunger is inside the hollow cylindrical body at the open end, is pierceable by a cannula, and is slidable relative to the hollow cylindrical body from the open end towards the closed end.
Drug Delivery Device
A drug delivery device comprises a housing adapted to receive a primary package, the housing comprising a distal surface adapted to be placed against an injection site and a proximal surface opposite the distal surface, the proximal surface adapted to be held in the palm of a user's hand during drug delivery, the housing having a flat form-factor in such a manner that a first extension of the housing between the distal surface and the proximal surface is less than at least one extension at right angles to the first extension.
Bottle holder for a syringe
A bottle holder for a syringe includes a stop surface, a piercing hollow spike protruding beyond the stop surface, a guideway, and a first and a second clamping element. Each clamping element includes a through-hole and is moveable back and forth between an insertion position and a clamping position. When the clamping elements are in the insertion position, a neck of the bottle can be moved through the through-holes until the front end of the bottle abuts against the stop surface such that the piercing hollow spike pierces a film at the front end of the bottle. At least one of the clamping elements in its clamping position presses against the neck of the bottle in order to clamp the bottle in the holder.
DUAL-STAGE SYRINGES FOR INDEPENDENT DELIVERY OF TWO OR MORE FLUIDS
In the present disclosure, embodiments of dual-stage syringes are disclosed along with delivery systems incorporating the dual-stage syringes. Embodiments of the dual-stage syringes described herein include sleeved dual-stage syringes, turn-key dual-stage syringes and dual-stage syringes including one or more one-way valves.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING AT LEAST ONE SUBSTANCE
A device and a method for dispensing at least one substance to a patient is presented where the device has a movable first container containing a first substance having a first piston with a first piston rod, a movable second container containing a second substance having a second piston with a second piston rod, an injection device, and a conduit device for guiding the contents of the second container to the first container and the contents of the first container to the injection device, wherein the first and the second piston are each movable via at least one pre-tensioned spring element. A free end of the first piston rod and a free end of the second piston rod are releasably held by a common holding component, and the common holding component is designed in such a way that a movement of the common holding component results in a successive release of the first piston rod and the second piston rod.
MICROSPHERE CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
In the present disclosure, embodiments of microbead containment systems and containment methods are disclosed. The microbead containment system may include a microsphere container, which includes walls that define a containment space in the microsphere container, and microspheres within the containment space. The walls may include at least one magnetic component configured to produce a magnetic field within the containment space. The microspheres may include a diamagnetic material. The method of containing radioactive microspheres may include loading a plurality of microspheres comprising a diamagnetic material in a container comprising one or more magnetic components. The microspheres contained in the microsphere container interact with the magnetic field in a manner that prevents direct contact of the microspheres and the microsphere container.
