Injector device
An injector device includes a housing for receiving a medicament cartridge; a needle unit comprising a needle; and a first sleeve slideable along a longitudinal axis of the housing from a first position, in which the first sleeve conceals the needle, to a second position, in which the needle is exposed from an end of the first sleeve, the first sleeve configured to engage the needle unit so that, during use, movement of the first sleeve from the first position to the second position moves the needle unit from a primary position to a secondary position, in which secondary position the needle unit locates over an end of a medicament cartridge, wherein the device further comprises a second sleeve arranged to move telescopically with respect to the first sleeve, the first sleeve extending from the second sleeve when the first sleeve is in the first position.
AN INJECTION DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED NEEDLES
The invention relates to an injection device for ejecting a predetermined plurality of fixed doses. The doses are expelled by moving a needle shield (30) in the proximal direction which releases a pre-strained torsion spring (115) to eject one of the predetermined doses at the time. The injection device is further provided with a number of integrated needle assemblies (70) which one at the time are brought to an injection position. The needle change mechanism (80,90) operating the needle assemblies is controlled by rotation of the needle shield which is rotatable between a locked and an unlocked position.
INJECTION DEVICE
An autoinjector device is provided. The autoinjector device can include an activator unit including an activation housing, an activation guard, and an activation shell such that a portion of the activation guard extends beyond a proximal end of the activation shell. The autoinjector device can include camouflage on a proximal surface to obscure a device lock hole and reduce user confusion around needle orientation.
Gas permeable sealing member for drug container and methods of assembly
Drug delivery devices, sealing members for containers housed within such drug delivery devices, and related methods of assembly are disclosed. The drug delivery device may include a housing, a container disposed in the housing and having an interior volume, a drug disposed in the interior volume, and a septum. The container may have an opening formed in an end surface and which communicates with the interior volume. The septum may include a proximal end inserted through the opening into the interior volume of the container. Additionally, the septum may include a distal end having a flange disposed outwardly of the proximal end and contacting the end surface of the container. At least an end portion of the flange may be made of a material that is permeable to a gaseous sterilizing agent.
MULTI-DOSE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient is provided. The container can be a prefilled cartridge that can be loaded into the drug delivery device by the patient or that can be preloaded within the drug delivery device when provided to the patient. A sealed end of the container is pierced to couple the stored liquid drug to a needle conduit that is coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the cartridge to the patient through the needle conduit. The drive system can be controlled to provide the liquid drug to the patient in a single dose or over multiple doses.
Needle Assembly with Needle Hub Shielding a Needle Cannula
A needle assembly (1) comprising a needle unit (2), where the needle unit (2) comprises a hub (6) with a skirt (3) having a longitudinal central axis (A), where the skirt (3) is having a proximal (7) and a distal end (8). The skirt is also having an internal surface adapted to interface with a mounting portion of a drug delivery device. The needle unit further comprises a needle cannula (30) having a proximal (31) and a distal (32) end, a central hub portion (5) holding the needle cannula (30), a transition portion (4) attached to the skirt portion (3), and wherein the transition portion (4) connects the skirt (3) with the central hub portion (5). The needle unit (2) is adapted to be switched between a retracted mode and an ejected mode. In the retracted mode, the distal end (32) of the needle cannula (30) is in a position which is proximal to the distal end (8) of the skirt (3), and the needle cannula (30) may be safely accommodated within the skirt (3). In the ejected mode, the distal end (32) of the needle cannula (30) is in a position which is distal to the distal end (8) of the skirt (3), and the needle cannula (30) may be ready for insertion. The transition portion (4) is adapted to deform, and thereby enable the switching between the modes, by allowing the central hub portion (5) to be moved in a longitudinal direction.
NEEDLE AND NEEDLE SHIELD ASSEMBLY
According to the invention there is provided a needle assembly (1) for mounting on an injection device. The needle assembly comprises; a main body (10) configured to be removably attached to the injection device in use and a needle (90) is secured in the main body (10) having a forward portion which projects forwardly from the main body. A shield (60) is pivotally connected with the body portion by a hinge portion (80). The shield (80) is rotatably movable between: a first position, in which the forward portion of the needle (90) is exposed for use, and a second position, in which the shield (60) is positioned over the forward portion of the needle (90) such that the forward portion of the needle is substantially enclosed within the shield. The shield (60) comprises a pair of spaced apart side walls (64, 66). The base of the side walls comprise a first cooperating feature (72, 74) for engaging a second cooperating feature (22, 24) of the main body (10). The cooperating features are configured to engage to hold the shield in its second position independently of the hinge.
ACTIVATING MECHANISM FOR A MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE AND MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
The invention relates to an activating mechanism for a medicament delivery device (1), comprising: —an outer body (8), —a cartridge (2) containing a dosage of a medicament and sealed with a sealing element (2.1) that is arranged across an open distal end of the cartridge (2), —a cartridge carrier (4) adapted to hold the cartridge (2), —a needle safety mechanism adapted to hold a double-ended hollow needle (6) and to relatively move along a longitudinal axis (L) with respect to the cartridge (2) and to the outer body (8) to cover or to expose the needle (6), —wherein in an initial position (P1) of the medicament delivery device (1), the double-ended hollow needle (6) is spaced from the cartridge (2) in a distal direction (D), and —wherein when the needle safety mechanism is pressed into the outer body (8), a proximal end of the needle (6) pierces the sealing element (2.1). The invention further relates to a medicament delivery device (1) comprising such an activating mechanism.
