Hypodermic Safety Needle
A safety needle device for connection to a medical connector, including threaded connections. The safety needle comprises a collar configured to interdigitate with a conventional needle hub, the collar having attachment points for a hinged cap, the hinged cap being in a two-piece configuration. In further embodiments, the safety needle device comprises a removable hard needle cover configured to cover needle cannula and a distal portion of a needle hub. The hard needle enclosure further comprises a cap configured to interdigitate with the needle cover and cover a proximal portion of the needle hub. The cap and at least a portion of the needle cover are covered by a removable sleeve which holds the cap and the needle cover together. Even further embodiments comprise a needle hub, a needle cover, an adapter and a cap, the adapter configured to attach to a conventional needle cap.
Hard-Packaged Safety Needle Device
A hard-packaged safety needle device comprises a needle hub having a needle cannula extending therefrom and a hard needle enclosure including a needle cover and a cap. The needle cover has an elongated body and a ribbed surface configured to create an interference fit with a proximal portion of the hub. The cap includes a body having an open distal end, a closed proximal end, and a cavity defined by the open distal end and the closed proximal end, the open distal end of the cap abutting an open proximal end of the needle cover.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
There is provided drug delivery devices comprising a drug container assembly with a needle and automatic needle insertion and drug delivery mechanisms. Aspects of the devices described include a noise-generation mechanism to indicate the completion of drug delivery, a mechanism for triggering drug delivery following needle insertion, front-end activation of the device and a safety mechanism for covering the needle after use and methods of assembly of the devices.
Cap for medical injector
A medical injector including a cap remover or second cap is disclosed. The medical injector includes an injector housing defining a reservoir, a plunger rod, and a stopper engaged with a portion of the plunger rod and slidably disposed within the reservoir. The stopper being sized relative to an interior of the injector housing to provide sealing engagement with a sidewall of the injector housing. The medical injector further includes a needle having a sharpened first end and a second end in communication with the reservoir, a first cap covering the sharpened first end of the needle, and a second cap covering at least a part of the first cap. The second cap is engaged with the first cap such that removal of the second cap simultaneously removes the first cap from the first end of the needle.
Syringe cap, syringe assembly, and prefilled syringe
A syringe cap is configured to be removably attached to a barrel to seal a needle hole in a puncture needle held by a barrel tip portion of the barrel, and comprises a first member that is configured to be pierced with the puncture needle and that comprises an elastic material having a Young's modulus in the range of 1 to 10 MPa; and a second member that comprises an elastic hollow body having a Young's modulus in the range of 1 to 10 MPa and that is configured form a closed space between the first member and the barrel. A vapor permeability of a material from which the first member is formed is lower than a vapor permeability of a material from which the second member is formed.
Dispensing assembly having a syringe and a needle guard
A distribution assembly having a syringe having a body with a tip supporting a needle having a bevel, and a removable syringe needle protection device. The protection device has a flexible cap defining an inside cavity defined by a side wall and by a distal solid end wall, and when in the protection position, receiving the bevel of the needle in airtight manner. The side wall includes an annular bead provided with at least one slot extending across the bead in a longitudinal direction, the bead, when in the protection position, co-operating in airtight manner with the tip of the syringe. The cavity of the cap is dimensioned so that when the protection device is removed from the syringe, the cavity is connected to the atmosphere via the slot before the bevel of the needle becomes connected to the cavity.
AUTOINJECTOR WITH A SIGNALING DEVICE
An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as said drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.
Injection device having a needle protection system
An injection device including a needle protection system, said injection device including a delivery needle (10) that is provided with a delivery orifice (11), said protection system comprising a removable needle guard (20) that, in a non-dispensing position, is adapted to be arranged on said needle (10) so as to protect and isolate said delivery orifice (11) of said needle (10), said needle guard (20) including an isolator portion (21) made of flexible material, said delivery orifice (11) of the needle (10) being poked into said isolator portion (21) in the non-dispensing position, said needle guard (10) including at least one outwardly-radial projection (25), said protection system further comprising an outer cap (30) that is provided with grip means (35, 35′, 36; 38; 300) that are adapted to co-operate with said at least one radial projection (25) of said needle guard (20), such that moving said outer cap (30) in the longitudinal direction of said needle (10), away from said delivery orifice (11), removes said needle guard (20) from the non-dispensing position, said at least one radial projection (25) being arranged at the distal axial end of said needle guard (20), said at least one radial projection (25) being formed on a rigid outer structure (28) of said needle guard (20).
Autoinjector with a signaling device
An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as the drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.
