A fluid cartridge assembly includes a fluid cartridge and a cap. The fluid cartridge includes a cartridge body and a flange extending from the cartridge body. The cap includes a locking latch, first and second squeeze handles, and a lever. The locking latch is configured to engage the flange of the fluid cartridge to couple the cap to the cartridge. The first squeeze handle being operatively coupled to said locking latch and configured to be depressed in a radially inward direction toward said second squeeze handle causing said locking latch to move in a radially outward direction. The lever is coupled to at least one of the first and second squeeze handles and configured to move between two positions. In one position the squeeze handles are substantially prevented from moving in the radially inward direction, and in another position the squeeze handles can move freely in the radially inward direction.

PEN NEEDLE COVER

A cover (50) is configured to enclose a pen needle or a safety pen needle (10). The cover (50) comprises a proximal end (52) in communication with an opening (58), the pen needle or the safety pen needle (10) disposed in the opening (58), a first seal (72) disposed at the proximal end (52) of the cover (50) to seal the opening (58), a cavity (56) disposed at a distal end (54) of the cover (50), a swab (60) disposed in the cavity (56), and a second seal (70) disposed at the distal end (54) of the cover (50) to seal the swab (60) in the cavity (56). The swab (60) contains at least one of an alcohol antiseptic, a non-alcohol antiseptic, and a numbing agent.

Tamper evident cap for medical fitting

A tamper evident closure assembly for a fitting including, but not limited to, use in combination with a female fixture or an enteral fixture. A cap is connectable in flow restricting relation to the fitting and includes an indicator member removably connected to an exterior thereof. A housing is dimensioned to removably contain the cap and the connected indicator member. Subsequent to the fixture being connected to the cap, a removal thereof results in the indicator member being detached from the cap and movably disposed in a captured, detached orientation within the housing. Tampering may be evidenced by the indicator member remaining captivated within the housing which may be determined by visual observation or the generation of sound caused resulting from the housing being shaken. An included drive assembly is structured for concurrent rotation of the housing and the indicator member one direction and relative movement there between upon rotation of at least a housing in an opposite direction.

SYRINGE

A tamper evident closure structured for attachment to a connector of a medical device including an end cap, and a tip cap disposed within the end cap in an operative position. An indicator member is removably connected to the end cap. A cover is connected to the end cap and includes an access opening dimensioned to allow the connector of the medical device to be positioned therein, into attachment with said tip cap. Cooperative dimensioning between the periphery of the access opening and the outer surface of the connector results in an engagement therebetween and a closure and the access opening when the connector is disposed there-through into attachment with the tip cap. A twisting or rotation of the tip cap in a single direction, within the end cap results in disconnection of the indicator member from the end cap, thereby providing an indication of tampering.

Indicator member of low strength resistance for a tamper evident closure

A tamper evident closure, intended primarily for a luer-slip or like frictional connection between one or more components associated with the closure and a syringe or other medical device, includes a housing having an open end and a tip cap disposed within the housing. An indicator member is connected to the housing in at least partially covering relation to the open end and includes an access opening disposed in accessible relation with the tip cap. A cover is removably disposed in overlying engagement with at least a portion of said indicator member in covering relation to the access opening. The indicator member has an inner segment disposed in contiguous surrounding relation to the access opening and has a reduced breakaway resistance, capable of being easily ruptured, ripped or torn during passage of said tip cap through the access opening, concurrent to the tip cap being connected to the medical device.

Method for producing a syringe with an integrated closure element

The invention relates to a method for producing a syringe with an integrated closure element, which method comprises the following method steps: a) making available an injection moulding tool which comprises a first, a second and a third tool portion, wherein the first tool portion has a mould cavity open at both sides and extending along an axial direction (X), and wherein the second tool portion has a first injection moulding core and the third tool portion has a second injection moulding core; b) closing the injection moulding tool such that the first tool portion contacts the second and third tool portion, and the first and second injection moulding core each enter the mould cavity of the first tool portion through an opening and finally contact each other, as a result of which these tool portions form a first structural cavity; c) injecting a first plastic material into the first structural cavity, as a result of which a hollow cylindrical syringe body is formed with an end region at its distal end, wherein the end region has an attachment element, provided with an inner thread, and a hollow cylindrical endpiece which is at least partially bounded by the attachment element; d) cooling the tool portions, as a result of which the syringe body cools and hardens; e) bringing the first tool portion into contact with a fourth tool portion provided with a mould cavity closed at one end, as a result of which a second structural cavity is formed at the distal end of the syringe body; f) injecting a second plastic material into the second structural cavity, as a result of which the closure element is integrally formed on the attachment element, wherein the first and the second plastic material do not enter into a cohesive connection.
