ASPIRATION AND INJECTION DEVICE
An aspiration and injection device is provided that can allow for ergonomic, safe, and precise aspiration of a target site and ejection of a medicament to the target site. The device can include a syringe barrel, a flange extender couplable to the barrel, and plunger that can be engaged by a hand and/or one or more finger of a user to perform aspiration and injection at a target site.
Dual chamber syringe with retractable needle
Embodiments of a retractable syringe assembly are provided that include a dual syringe barrel configuration. One or more embodiments include reuse prevention features and features that prevent premature activation of the retraction mechanism. Methods for aspirating and expelling liquid from medical devices are also provided.
SYRINGE
The invention provides a syringe for use in an ophthalmic injection. The syringe comprises a body, a stopper and a plunger. The body comprises an outlet at an outlet end and the stopper is arranged within the body such that a front surface of the stopper and the body define a variable volume chamber from which a fluid can be expelled though the outlet. The plunger comprises a plunger contact surface at a first end and a rod extends between the plunger contact surface and a rear portion. The plunger contact surface is arranged to contact the stopper but not couple thereto, such that the plunger can be used to force the stopper towards the outlet end of the body, reducing the volume of the variable volume chamber, but not to move the stopper away from the outlet end.
LOW CONCENTRATION DELIVERY OF AN ERGOLINE DERIVATIVE FOR TREATMENT OF A HEADACHE
Provided are ergoline derivative containing medicaments disposed within a preassembled, prefilled, single-use delivery device, methods for administering a medicament using a preassembled, prefilled, single-use delivery device, and systems or kits that contain one or more preassembled, prefilled, single-use devices and user instructions, such as for treatment of a migraine or other headache.
INJECTION SYSTEM, SYRINGE, AND ADAPTER
An injection system includes: a syringe having a cylinder to be filled with a chemical liquid, a flange projecting laterally from the cylinder, an end portion through which the chemical liquid passes when the chemical liquid is pushed out, and a syringe screw portion formed on a side opposite to the end portion; an adapter for holding the syringe, the adapter having a receiving portion for receiving the cylinder, a regulating wall for abutting the flange, and an adapter screw portion engaged with the syringe screw portion; and an injection device provided with a holder to which the adapter is to be attached. In this injection system, a tightening direction by the syringe screw portion and the adapter screw portion is set in a direction toward the end portion.
Adapter for a syringe
An adapter for a syringe includes a base portion having an insertion hole and a flange portion extending laterally outwardly from the base portion. A longitudinal axis of the flange portion extends from a first distal end to an opposing second distal end. A first distance measured from a geometric center of the insertion hole to the first distal end of the flange portion is less than a second distance measured from the geometric center of the insertion hole to the second distal end. The first distance defines a first section of the flange portion and the second distance defines a second section of the flange portion. The first section has a cross-sectional shape that is one of at least slightly concave and at least slightly convex and the second section has a cross-sectional shape that is the other of at least slightly convex and at least slightly concave.
Auto-injector
There is provided a cassette unit suitable for use with an auto-injector. The cassette unit comprises a cassette unit housing and a removable cap that in a capping position fits over and thereby, acts to close off, a needle projection aperture of the housing. The cassette unit housing has one or more first engagement features arranged for reversibly engaging one or more second engagement features of the removable cap for reversible lock engagement of the removable cap to the housing; and a shuttle lock control defining one or more blocking elements for selectively blocking movement of said first engagement features relative to said second engagement features. The shuttle lock control is axially movable relative to the cassette unit housing between a first ‘cassette unused’ position; a second ‘cassette unlocked’ position; and after replacement of the removable cap, a third ‘cassette used’ position, locating intermediate the first and second positions.
INJECTION DEVICE WITH DOSAGE MONITORING
Injection device and method for monitoring injection information relating to an injection. A syringe of the device includes a syringe chamber containing an injectant substance. A plunger of the device includes a plunger rod axially displaceable within the syringe chamber. At least one element of the is configured to undergo a corresponding element motion linked to a distal displacement of the plunger rod. A sensor of an electronics unit of the device obtains detection readings relating to the corresponding element motion. An injection is performed by depressing the plunger rod in a distal direction, compelling a corresponding element motion detected by the sensor, and compelling the injectant substance to be injected through a distal end of the syringe chamber. The detection readings relating to the corresponding element motion of the element is processed to determine injection information including at least the volume of injectant substance injected.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF HEPATITIS D VIRUS INFECTION
Described are RNA interference (RNAi) agents for treating a Hepatitis D Virus (HDV) infection in a subject in need thereof.
